i may be wrong but i think the last time he played at cb he scored that comical OG, i personally wouldnt have him as a starter, but as a vital squad player because of his flexibility

That's why I took the decision to go with Hangeland rather than Jones alongside Vertonghen

Although really would like another good defender to partner Vertonghen and have Hangeland as the back up.

Would ideally like a little cash as part of the trade, but I think cash is in great demand at the mo.

I guess Sandro (I know! I sold him to you )/Bent/Cleverley/Shawcross are players than I would certainly have in my first 18 players. But it depends on how much you value Jones and Jelavic in comparison to those players.

If you would consider exchanging Shawcross, Bent, Sandro and Cleverley for Henderson, Jelavic and Jones I would certainly do a trade

Hero, I'm not a big fan of Saha and Bentley, but do you like Dembele and could include him if it would free up Sandro and/or Cleverley.

My problem with Jelavic is that I quite clearly paid over the odds - however we all know he's worth more than the transfermarkt value.

I could quite happily exchange Jelavic, Jones, Henderson and Dembele for Bent, Cleverley, Sandro and Shawcross

Okay so my team.

I'm happy with the two flanks.

Walker & Adam Johnson on the left and Baines and Dempsey on the right.

To cover injuries - full backs; Naughton can come in on either side after an impressive season on loan at Norwich. Smith could also play on the right, whilst on the left Rose can come in, or more likely Vertonghen can move to the left with Shawcross or King coming into the centre in his place.

Wings - firstly Dempsey and Adam Johnson can play on either flank, so if one is out injured Rose will come in on the left and Dempsey/AJ will take the right.

Centre backs and central Midfield; Hangeland and Vertonghen backed up with Shawcross, Caulker and King, although Huddlestone could also play at the back.

Defensive Midfield, Livermore is first in line should Sandro/Huddlestone pick up an injury. Then Joe Allen, then if need be King.

Attacking midfield position; currently held by Sigurdsson, but if he;s out injured then Cleverley is the obvious replacement. If not then Dempsey will move central and Rose plays on the left. Allen can also fill in.

Up front - Carroll on his own, but if injured then Bent comes in, in which case I will change formation to a more comfortable 4-4-2 with Dempsey or Sigurdsson supporting Bent. Beyond that Harry Kane could also support Bent, or Carroll if need be.

Future purchases: Ideally a central defender to come into the starting line up (or at very least add serious competition) possibly a further back up rightback and a winger who can play on either flank. Also a 3rd striker.

My season could well hinge on if Carroll has a blinding Euro 2012. If he does then I'm looking at better results for sure, if not then

I personally would go for king, still the best cb arry has at his disposal despite his knees

It's tricky isn't it. I mean certainly say 2 years ago both Hangeland and Shawcross were ranked amongst the best defenders in the country, but since then they've levelled out if you like.

I shall give it some thought before the first match. If I had a 3 way coin I'd toss for it hahaha!!
