this player's being totally overhyped from what i can tell.

there are psoters on that thread saying he's going to be a spurs legend. is it just because he's foreign ?

for me any centre back we bring in for next season's only going to be a squad player anyway.

JPB off will you with you're negativity. I have seen him a few times and he is the dogs bolloks. He is highly rated and he got player of the season. He has a habit of scoring goals aswell so a defender that can also score goals is pretty exciting in my eyes. I for one bloody hope this link is true, we can build from the back then with Caulker on the way back.

Don - the ones not really happy about it are the ones that think caulker should be number center back with Kabul
He's got a very bright future but no way ready to start 1st choice. He weren't even the better CB at Swansea Ashley Williams was.

Hengy, exactly. Don't get me wrong, i am extremely excited about Caulker and hope he can get a lot of games next season BUT we are in dire need of a top class centre back. i'm fed up of having to rely on a bunch of 33 year old crocks like Gallas, Nelsen and King who have been excellent servants (King and Gallas) but are long passed their sell by date. We need fresh blood at the back and if true, i can't wait to see Vertonghen and Caulker playing next season.

Don why your here what you think about going in for maluda (sp)!

Remember watching him a few months back ripping England apart.

Not sure henge about Malouda mate, i don't like going for chelsea rejects if i'm being honest. He was a decent player but really frustrating. Is he on a free or something? I would consider it if he was free but certainly wouldn't want to pay money for him now.

JPB, not sure who said vertonghen will be a "club legend" but i certainly am not going overboard like that. I'm just happy we can still attract a top class player like him, i think he will be excellent. Time will tell wether he is a club legend though

We have caulker to come back so where will he play or are we going to loan him out again?

Chronic is here .....Caulker will get games chronic, you can't just expect him to come straight in and be our 1st choice. I for one would welcome some competition and to have excellent centre backs fighting for places.

I'm just happy we can still attract a top class player like him.

I am confused to how we know he is top class just because he is Dutch player of year. It's a pub league. Furthermore if he was that great I bet he would have his sights set higher than spurs. I will wait to see how he performs before I get excited. I personally want to see younes and caulker as first choice cb next season

Chronic, have a cake mate ........I don't see how you can say you immediately want Caulker as 1st choice when he has only had 1 good season and is still young but you dismiss an International player who is at his peak, highly rated and player of the season. Rubbish league or not, to get player of the season as a centre back is quiet an achievement.
