In a short press conference after collecting the manager of the month award Tranq discussed recent injuries, transfer targets and league positioning

"yes we have a few injuries going forward in the next few weeks, both Yaya and Mario suffered muscular injuries and will be out for 3-4 weeks for the pair, Xherdan has a slight knock and will miss the next game, whilst Diego Forlan may miss a couple of weeks.

I am always looking to improve this team, the injuries i described have forced me to jiggle about my players and there are a few holes that will need filling.

We are currently 5 points ahead of our nearest competition, which is a good margin, but we are not complacent and will be making sure we try our hardest against every team to make sure we keep that lead and look to extend it"

9th! God, this are giddy heights for me and Stoke...

My Statement:

"Can I confirm that whilst it'd be a blow to lose Coentrao, we are looking to bring in a very good player to fill in the hole left. Also, to be able to bring David Villa into the fold would be no small feat. If Coentrao were to leave, and nothing is set in stone as of yet, we here at Stoke wish him all the best... Until we play Fulham "

Fulham boss Hodgey has claimed the title race is all-but over for his side.

City convincingly beat Newcastle 3-0 on Saturday and, whilst Fulham overcame Sunderland at Craven Cottage, City's win has prompted Hodgey to rule out the title race.

"They shouldn't lose it from here. 2 points doesn't seem like a lot but their fixture list is much kinder than I'd like it to have been at this late stage in the season.

"It looks like those 2 dropped points against Arsenal when we suffered from some injuries may have cost us. It's a shame but all we can do is keep winning and that's what we'll do."

Stoke Statement:

Manager Park Ji. has ruled out his team's chances of winning the title, which came as a shock to the surrounding journalist (he was fat, and alone). Fulham manager also ruled out a run for the title late on, but that is likely to be overshadowed by Stoke throwing in the towel now. Whilst it is mathematically impossible for Stoke to win, this news is sure to rock the footballing world.

On a different note, the chopping and changing at the Potters continues, with a whole new strike force being unveiled tonight after a long drawn out transfer deal with Fulham.
