As most people with a modicum of intelligence know, Eithad is the Arabic word for Union or Unity.
===========================================
not according to the MEN this evening.
it can mean united.
read the paper
Why are you named after a Sunderland player ?
not according to the MEN this evening.
------------------------------------------
Are you for real!????
I like the way that a smattering of Arabic is now a necessity for all intelligent people.
And I only just noticed the spelling mistake in the OP. Maybe 'Eithad' is the word for 'union' or 'unity', while 'Etihad' is the word for 'United'?
The mystery deepens …
Mystery solved - your tripping.

its best to ignore that o'shea fellow, he pops up on threads to spout anti-city nonsense, digs himself a hole then clears off once he has no further rubbish to spout
I personally think Etihad Stadium is a fine name. I never called it Eastlands or COMS.
For that kind of money they could change my name, ha.
I'd change my name to Wayne Giggs for a tenner.
If you changed your name to Wayne Giggs would your ideas about monogamy change, or would you become a ho wrangling sister in law bothering granny abuser?
im intersted to know why we would be chanting 'Etihad' at Old Trafford or petitioning Trafford Council to have the thoroughfare behind Old Trafford renamed 'Etihad' Road or demanding that the club crest bears the words 'Manchester Etihad'?
were english not arabic!
such a childish comment boris
Owned by Americans managed by a Scotsman with the majority of your fans being foreigners yup you English
old traffords not in england then?!
united road not in england?!
Is the etihad stadium not in manchester <Doh>
yes it is but the point is that its your stadium, well kind of, so you can call it what you like and as you are owned by the arabs then its likely its going to be named with that connection in mind.
united road is owned by the council not by arabs so why would we be asking the council to change it to an arabic name.
im not surprised youre having trouble with this to be honest
yeah Trafford council! at least our owners put money into the club and surrounding areas instead of Florida shopping malls <haha>
were english not arabic!
Your owners are American, your previous owners were Irish, Trafford is a French word.
so that means we have to rename a road to an arabic name?!
Trafford is a French word
