Tough one. If you look at Longevity then yes but other managers have won lots in a small space of time which needs to be considered. Like Mourinho at Porto you could argue his greatest achievement was taking Aberdeen to European glory rather than winning with a big club. Aberdeen!!!
he's already the best nevermind when he retires
Hes got to be right up there mate
do you mean in the uk, europe or world?
whatever really ?
why - who would be a better manager from overseas then ?
bob paisley won three european cups, does this not make him better?
we can only compare by continent.
The european cup is the only method we can judge managers across europe
one of the greatest
there will always be justifiable reasons why others could be equal or pip him to the top spot and he could have similar reasons back the other way. It wouldn't be undisputed by any means but he'd always be on the shortlist.
not at all, it can be argued its harder to win the league than the European Cup, Chelsea won the CL ffs and they were nowhere near the best team.
Ferguson shiets on Paisley for honours.
so if someone asked you what makes a ferguson a good manager, would your answer be "2 european cups".
is there nothing you could add to explain why you think it is that he had this success ?
if there is, are you able to compare these skills with those of other succesful managers ?
I already consider him the best manager ever in England.
I think he uses a lot of psychology, not just with players but with the media as well
>>I think he uses a lot of psychology
he sat across from me on the sofa once. just staring with those beady little eyes. gum smacking away.
then he said tell me about your mother.
It was awful.
he already is, along with sir matt and shankly a close third. trigger from only fools and horses could have won the european cup with the squad that shankly left paisley, which is why he isn't even in the same stratosphere as the other three.
I think you need a minimum of three European cups to qualify for the top spot
He has won two european cups in twenty five years, thats a poor return considering Di Matteo has one in only three months
I think Redconn is possibly on the wum

that's like 78 European Cups in Fergie years
