UEFA European League

+ it's one thing controlling the midfield but a completely different proposition in trying to create chances. (Barcelona - Chelsea is a prime example) You may control the midfield but I didn't feel you had the creative players required to create the chances.

Lamela is a quality player. Ok yes I overrate him but he is still quality and what about my midfield? Vidal - Inler. I have one of the best CM pairings in this league and you had Belhanda there who is a AM.

We kept the ball and you started to tire in midfield and at the back at times and when you did get sloppy we capatalised on that and split you apart. So it didn't all come from Pied - Lamela - Mertens. Most of it came from Inler and Vidal to split your defence and give it to either of them 3 and we scored. You were chasing the ball for 3/4's of the game which tired your defence and midfield making it easier for us. The longer the game goes on, the easier it got for us.

Also, it wasn't just about tactics and home advantage, you forgot about the most vital thing of, the starting 11 which tbh mine probably was better than yours ON THE DAY.

True Motta does have good Stamina but so does Inler and Vidal is just a beast. He honestly does just control the game.

he is just like Pirlo in the Euro's, controlling the game.

Belhanda is a CM. All you're saying is how my midfield + defence would tire but that wouldn't happen. The stamina of these players is incredible. Once again, you disregarded my argument. On the counter-attack, you would be vulnerable because Vidal and Inler, along with your fullbacks are venturing forward. As for starting XI's,

--------------------------------Lloris------------------------------
----Lichsteiner-----Godin--------Benatia----Alba----------
-----------------------Inler-----------Vidal------------------
-----Pied-----------------Lamela--------------Mertens-----
------------------------------Cavani------------------------------

Vs.

IMO, yours is not better.

+ I have the pace of Navas, Turan and Schurrle to expose a slow CB partnership of Godin and Benatia who are playing high up the pitch.

"On the counter-attack, you would be vulnerable because Vidal and Inler, along with your fullbacks are venturing forward."
-------------------------------------
Now that is where you are wrong because I put in my tactics that the full-backs need to match the wingers for pace and get the tackles in and also to only go forward if needed and both Vidal and Inler are more defensive minded rather than attacking minded.

Why would Godin and Benatia be high up the pitch in a match away from home?

Godin is hardly slow is he?

posted on 7/7/12

For the fullbacks, "2 full backs who like to attack so when they get the chance I want them to get forward and support the wingers who aren't as strong as normal." Therefore, there will 100% be space in behind them on the break.

And, just above you said that it was more Inler and Vidal who were making the crucial passes.

Stop contradicting yourself. You keep saying how you boss the midfield etc. so that automatically means that your back line pushes up because you have the ball. If not, there would be a large gap in between the defence and midfield, so either way you are exploited.

Godin is hardly slow is he?
-------------

Godin is quite slow, though.

By the way, you restarted this argument by implying that my tactics were poor. Anyway, we are never going to agree and the result is done but at the end of the day, I feel cheated because you calculated it yourself.

Yes they were but not like 25 yards from goal. The wingers will be covering for them and my full-backs will also be pushing your wingers back to defend will they not? They don't bomb forward to the by line they are just supporting them.

"Supporting them" implies they overlap, thus space in behind.

They will be high up the pitch because you have more of the ball.

posted on 7/7/12

Like I said, they were not high up the pitch and if 1 went forward then 1 stayed back to stop you from exploiting me.

Well, for some reason, you feel cheated every week don't you? Cheated today, and last week when you never were tbh. What about the 1st game? Where you cheated out of that one as well?

Ok fair enough, if you think that it is cheating, then it might go your way in another game, it might not. Realistic league, it is how football works you do know. How do you think England felt when Lampard had his shot go clearly over the line ut it wsn't given? Well have our bad times mate and that is what you don't understand.

Did you not read the full part of that?

Another bit said, the wingers will cover for them to stop you from exploiting us down the wing.

LRF has forgotten that and simply said that his Lyon bossed the game.

If this is the Case, then Someone needs to look at the Tactics Careful

Nice to see you here

posted on 7/7/12

LRF, where in the tactics does it say that about the wingers covering the fullbacks?

You calculated the result of your own game.

Just wondering, what do you make of it all?

Also, LRF, was that disgrace thing aimed at me or Welshy?

Lrf, it's okay mate all done + am glad you listened as all it was, was that I felt the budgets weren't as fair as I knew you'd wish them to be.

I know that, maybe I was having a bad day and was a tad too sensitive about it.

Let's make up okay Lrf
