Sorry guys meant to add, remember Boswinga arrived and everone assumed it was just a CFC buy and a while later Scolari turns up and says Boswinga was he's target and told CFC to buy him before we even knew he was the new man

I got a feeling we're going to appoint Capello for one year then go for Guardiola.

Yep, I am with you on this brother.

Remember the Hazard signing really came out of the blue, yes we had been linked a coule of times but then we dropped of the radar and all talk were of him joining Arsenal Man u , Man C, then suddenly we are in for him and the transfer gets' done and very quickly. I'm sure it's a manager signing

The Hazard signing was probably an RA signing, I don't for 1 sec believe that Hazard would have joined us if we did not win the CL.

I think it was Belgian paper which said in 2011 that Hazard will join us.

If it was Capello, we could have got him in easily by now. Still think we're either trying to get guardiola, or just wait for Laurent Blanc

Why Laurent Blanc? Haven't read much speculation about him recently

Arsenal are a joke. I remember the deluded ones talking of signing Hazard and what a great player he is.
I fully expect the same posters to put him down and start slating him.
Wenger has actually pulled the wool over their eyes.Telling them 3rd place is a trophy to appease them is a joke to.
Glad we have our attitude of going for it. 2 real trophies in a "poor season" one of which Arsenal will never win makes me smile every morning I wake up

Am i the only one thinking we may have missed a trick not signing Brendan Rodgers? Don't get me wrong, i know he doesn't have enough experience and there's a slight whiff of the AVB about him (his use of the word "Project" for one) but could he have done a job for us? Then again, i also want RDM to be rewarded for the job he did, thank god i'm not RA, i'd hate to be making a decision on the next manager!

I honestly do not think RDM is going to get the job, I'm sure it would have been announced by now, really nothing to stop it, yes CFC may have atken a little time but I think it's gone on to long to result in Robbie getting it. Whoever comes in I hope the 1st thing he does is ask Robbie to stay on and maybe Eddie. After all Robbie came in as assistant and I cannot see we could getter a better one. so lets hope if a new manager comes in he feels the same

I also think that Guardiola is our first choice with Robbie as second choice.

It´s pretty obvious that we are currently in negotiations with Guardiola and whether he takes the job remains to be seen.

I still find it a bit absurd that we´ve tried so many times to win the CL in previous years with superior Chelsea sides and now we finally win it we don´t give the job to the man that finally guided us to winning it.

I struggle to get my head round that but it appears I´m in a minority on this board in that regard.

Superb I understand what you are saying but let me take you back to Moscow, we could have won it there and that was with Avran Grant in charge, would we really have wanted Avram in charge after that, I do not belive we would have and I think we must face it the players got us to that final ie the team huddle etc before the game and extra time.
It's really difficult as I like RDM a lot but you cannot appoint people on sentiment and to be honest if RDM got it wrong next year we would all be screaming for he's head annd I really do not want it to end like that for him

There´s a big difference between Grant and DiMatteo.

For a start the players love DiMatteo and they all appear to want him to stay.

All the players hated Grant and were delighted he left.

Secondly it´s not just about DiMatteo winning the Champions League. He´s also won the FA Cup and has proven he has what it takes to get Chelsea to win things.

This has been the most successful season in the history of the club and if you had told me that back in February when AVB was still in charge I would have laughed in your face.

I have a feeling our new manager will be someone everyone least expected.

Bielsa anyone?
Hiddink?

Superb it has nothing to do with winning the CL. It has to do with who is best placed to take us back to being the best club in Europe. Guardiola I think can make us a better team than Di Matteo can.

-----------------------------------------------------------

That´s a big call Gazza. We don´t know anything about Guardiola outside of the bubble that is Barcelona FC.

We´ve never seen him manage another club or different players so it´s a big call to assume that he can be successful at Chelsea in a different country and a different league with a completely different group of players who play a completely different style of football to Barca.

To assume that Guardiola can be successful at Chelsea in one heck of an assumption.

By trying to bring in Guardiola after just winning the CL with DiMatteo feels like we´ve had our cake, eaten it and now we want another one.

It just feels wrong to me.
