what do you lot want? Keep playing these players that contniually let England down? Or maybe try youth that everyone wanted AFTER the last WC? Make your minds up.
I want youth and experience in the English side, which is why I'm crying that we have no Wilshere and we have to dig up Henderson instead. In the Euro's with everyone fit, Carrick and Wilshere should be the central midfield pairing. Henderson shouldn't even be on standby.
(alright in the prem where its 14 mediocre teams).
Dont call Liverpool that, they dominated once upon a time...
Lampard has impressed me in his deeper role lately. It's almost as if now he could play alongside Gerrard.
Never debate with these idiots. Redconn, Metro and Got_Bitter have to be the most clueless lot I've ever met on this site. Especially the latter who thought Liverpool can get top 3 last season, and had his usual "overreaction" topic when a new manager is appointed.
Because Liverpool fans don't understand nowt on here, it hurts me.
If they don't understand nowt they understand everything.
I don't think either Henderson or Carrick should be there.
Carricks got a lot of caps. I don't remember any of them. For a reason.
If we're going to take a player who offers little other than perfect one touch passing 5 yards sideways, if that's really what you think we need, then take the younger one.
I'd take neither but you seem to think this is something we need to play Roy's 4-4-2 hoofball. I have no idea why but you seem to think so.
We should play 4-2-3-1
Hart
Richards Terry Cahill Cole
Carrick Wilshere
Ox Rooney Young
Welbeck
This is what I would have started at the Euro's had they been fit or if Roy had convinced some that weren't even on standby to come into the side like Richards.
>>We should play 4-2-3-1
We play Royball.
2 banks of 4 on the edge of the 18 so rigidly aligned your eyes will bleed.
If we're lucky enough to get the ball it's hoof time.
Treat that as an iron clad fact, then think about who should be in the squad.
People who are good tacklers. People who don't get overrun against better sides through the centre. Forwards who are fast or can hold up long balls.
That's the side to pick.
I dont think Wellbeck is ready to have a starting place for England just yet..
Welbeck and Rooney have formed a good partnership last season, he has great link up play and is pacey too. Him and Rooney got the chemistry but he does lack clinicalness I agree. But we need to blood youth and experience, if that team was fit I'd be confident we would top the group stages. We are missing so many important players
England needs a Drogba
You think Rooney might play off Carrol at any point in the Tournament?
It would be awesome for Shrek to reunite with Donkey
But if Long ball is Roys tactics it suits Carrols play..
Who would you have in the number 9 role? Carroll, Sturridge or Defoe? I'd probably have Sturridge but he's greedy however he's talented and I rate him. If he was a team player he would be fantastic
If Welbeck is still at Man U in 7 years time I'll be surprised. If he's still starting I'd be majorly shocked.
let rooney be Englands No 9.
Underrate him all you want but I love him and he will have a fantastic future with United, don't know what he's done to rival fans but that's your problem
All he's done is not be a very good footballer. Nothing else.
I don't understand? He's linked up well with Cleverley, Rooney and Young. He can cross from the left when he's played there, can make dangerous runs into the box and he's got bags of pace. I didn't think he had a future before the loan with the Mackems, but boy he came back a different player and he had a pretty good season. Just needs to be more confident in Front of goal
I really like Sturridge but he's only really played at right wing and seems to have gone off the boil a bit.
Defoe has a purple patch of a month or two once a season then vanishes.
Welbeck hasn't ever really impressed and his finishing is a big issue (per United fans, I didn't watch all your matches) but I'll admit he's got a lot of potential. Just not realised yet.
Carroll was an absolute, unplayable monster for Newcastle who turned into the biggest donkey I've ever seen for 6 months. The last month and a half of the season he was unplayable again. But was that a fluke and he'll just go back to being rubbish. Dunno.
None of our striking options fill anyone with too much confidence.
Carroll will flourish in a Hodgson side. He is the man for this tournament. He's got to take his chance. I think he will.
Good summary, but Sturridge said he wants to be a CF and hates playing on the wing. I say he should be tried there for England but if we are persisting with hoofball then Andy Carroll should be the first option up front I guess with Rooney behind him.
hopefully things change, i read theres a complete shake up with the coaching of kids now, they want them to learn to be technical players or something alont those lines..
