Never has a player been so fabulously gifted, and woefully limited, as Steven Gerrard. Point is, Carrick has spent the last decade being good enough for Spain, Brazil, Germany, Holland, France and co, but never been good enough to be a starter for England? Hmm...
I've heard people say that past England managers didn't pick carrick consistantly so it proves that he's not up to it at international level and/or there's better players ahead of him, it's strange then that the one manager who has picked him for his starting 11 during that period is the most succesful manager working in the game today and is considered by many to be the greatest of all time, good enough for SAF but not sven, mcClaren, Fabio or Roy Hodgson, hmmmm
