Les? Are you trying to be funny or are you really that simple?
Great article. Five stars from me.
The treatment Sir Les has received from successive England managers since he retired about ten years has been disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
So what that he must be about 45 by now.
So what that he plays in a totally different to Martin Kelly. He deserves his seat on the plane (although he may take up two seats now)
Hodgson should call up Terry Butcher as well, and Paul Mariner. But of course he won't. The idiot.
I think it is totally unreasonable of Hodgson to leave out Ferdinand. Firstly, because everyone is so used to seeing his dumb mug at every international competition, secondly because of his angry jealous outburst afterwards.
For these 2 reasons alone he should be included.
How can he leave him out when he's one of the all time leading goalscorers in Premier League history? It's a disgrace.
not only that but he has a pilots licence and has his own helicopter. Baffling omission
but what happens when he has to go shopping and he's needed for a drugs test, no worries those testers can wait theirs a sale on JAJABINKS fashion store in the gunchester outlet mall

It's Rio Ferdinand you idiot. Les is that guy that plays centre back for QPR.
Your an even bigger burke - anton plays for QPR.
Les retired years ago
You're all mistaken, he's referring to Aaron Ferdinand of Harrow Borough.

Look the OP has already been called an idiot which i think is out of line but to call him facetious, without actually seeing his face, is downright insulting and overstepping the line.
OK so I made a fool of myself. Too early in the morning and I'm getting on a bit. Point still stands.

Think that was Les Dennis.
Ah, OP in all honestly I thought you were joking, now that it's a serious mistake, it gets less funny.
Now that the article is serious, I'll make a serious comment.
Firstly Ferdinand is not as good as Cahill, Terry, Lescott or Jagielka, secondly they are all younger and thirdly, they are all fitter.
Now one dropped out, so a decision has to be made. Do you bring Ferdinand, who has many times made fun of you on Twitter, saying "Woy". Who has been vocal over Twitter complaining about his exclusion. Whose manager told you he isn't fit enough to play at the World Cup and who isn't as good as Jones, who will be moved to cover at centre back, whilst Kelly, who would normally be behind, Jones(who moved) Smalling(who's injured) Walker(who's injured) and Richards(who refused to be placed on the standby list) is brought in to cover for right-back.
Now you have to ask, would you be in a better position with Rio covering centre back and Jones right back, or Jones covering centre back and Kelly covering right back? For me it's the latter.
England fans and the media just like a good old moan. Had he been taken, it would have been the same old players chosen again whilst young players are left at home. When he isn't taken, not taking a player who has over 80 caps blah blah.
England have the third or forth youngest squad at the Euro's. They are planning for the future, there's no point in Rio covering for the defence, when a younger player can cover and get the experience to take into the World Cup.
Firstly Ferdinand is not as good as Cahill, Terry, Lescott or Jagielka, secondly they are all younger and thirdly, they are all fitter.
===================
You do post some rubbish don't you.
On a more serious note, I do believe that Ferdinand's ommision was initially political and that it is now out of stubborness.
However, he was a bitter fool to come out and say what he did on Twitter. Reminded me of a number of jealous fairy-tale characters.
Now you have to ask, would you be in a better position with Rio covering centre back and Jones right back, or Jones covering centre back and Kelly covering right back? For me it's the latter.
--------------------------------------------
how much cover do you need for right back? Johnston, jones and Kelly? Jones at cover for CB ahead of Rio? Dont make me laugh!
If People think Kelly warrants being in the England Squad ahead of Rio they should find something else to do with their time.
yea...

but on a footie level ...its ridiuclous hes not going to the euros ..top player .,...

You're looking at it wrongly though. It's not that simplistic. England did not need to bring another centre back. Especially one who is worse the the one's going, who is too old and not fit, who had made fun of the manager and who had been throwing his toys out of the pram, showing complete arrogance.
Jones will be used to cover midfield and central defence, with midfielders dropping like flies, Jones had to be used as cover there also and the sensible thing to do, whilsty having so many defenders already, was to bring in a right-back, releasing Jones, to cover elsewhere.
People keep thinking Kelly was chosen ahead of Rio but he wasn't. Kelly won't play in centre back. He isn't experienced or even tested there at club level, nevermind international level.
I understand you want to whine about a United player not getting in but with all the reasons against his inclusion, his manager saying he isn't fit enough and shouldn't goto the World Cup, insulting the manager's speech impediment, other players being better, young and fitter, surely you can see that it's not such an outrage?
