If we're talking about both in terms of quality then i'd say Terry and Cahill

But individually, Kompany is miles better than any of them

I think Ferdinand and Vidic, Kompany is a brilliant defender, and Lescott's not half bad. But Vidic was, and hopefully still is, the best defender in the world, and Rio still has that unerring ability to read a game and see where he needs to be.

However, I think United will probably play Evans-Vidic in the future, so City's will be stronger, but United's, given a few years may well retake the defensive pairing crown.

Delued Arsenal fans voting for Verm and Kosc I voted Kompany and Forehead.

Terry is finished. As for Cahill. Don't be silly.

Nice to see people looking beyond a Lal fest and rating Skrts and Agger highly.

Kompany or Vidic?

Imagine that partnership!!!!

posted on 5/6/12

Liverpool had a decent defensive record last season because they played negative football and prioritised on not conceding more than scoring goals.

Agger is a good defender though.

Kamran doesn't watch liverpool clearly.

You know we carved out around 1000 chances right? Considerng we scored 40 odd goals and had a conversion rate of 4%...

In fairness, they're all very decent. Ferdinand and Vidic might be a little past it at this stage though.

Evans and Rio last season had racked up alot of clean sheets and we've conceded 33 goals only in the league which is great compared to seasons before.

At the moent Kompany + Lescott, Kompany does carry him a bit though.
Kosc and Vermalen and Luiz + Cahill are both very good partnerships though and will be very good in the future.
Ferdinands past it as far as i'm concerned and it remains to be seen if Vidic can get back to his best after his injry

No

We created tons of chances but couldn't finish during the first half of the season.

Agger and Lucas got injured and it all fell apart
