Till a DHBH player goes more successful than Fed, I won't believe it.
-----------------------------------
So, let us hope that Nole can do it tomorrow.

We;; but how will Djo become more successful than Fed by winning his lone RG final if he does it tomorrow? Even after than win the path is very very long, 10 more slams, 5 more WTF, 9 more Masters, don't remember how many weeks at #1.. etc etc..

And Fed isn't done as yet... not yet.

I agree Rotla with your view for Nole what he should do.
Nole has like only player the game to get himself completely under Nadull skin. He thas the best BH on the circuit at the moment and with his returning abilities he can haunt him. I have fears about the slow clay with some bad bouncing and slow balls. That will Nadull help a lot, the spin will be the enemy and of course the crowd will not support Nole. Perhaps I am wrong.

New racquet and string technology have assisted power play, and SHBH is certainly not as powerful as DHBH. So thats why its getting difficult for SHBH players.
-------------------------------
I'd say the main difficulty for a SHBH is that it requires sharper timing and is therefore less consistent than a DHBH cause it has a smaller sweet spot. When Federer goes DTH or cross court, it's much riskier than a DHBH.

This is why the retrievers are doing so well against SHBH on slow courts cause they keep sending the ball to the BH knowing that there is a chance out of 5 that the SHBH will produce an UE.

But the main thing is that as the match goes own, that SHBH becomes even more fragile as tiredness creeps in.

I think Federer puts it correctly: Nadal is the favourite but Djoko can win with a bit of luck.

I think it will be more balanced than people think cause Djoko knows that nadal can tire whereas most other players think he is unfatigable. If Djoko can tuire Nadal at the beginning Djoko has a great chance cause Nadal's shots will land shorter and shorter.

But one we know is that Djoko is less fit this year than last. Was really obvius v Federer. Having said that he has also shown that he can get exhausted in a rally or 2 but seems to be able to recover his breath as the match progresses.

I really don;t know who's going to win there. The semi were much easier to predict.

Roger can be happy to hold his GS record due to Nole. Not having Nole then Roger´s entry would not last much longer. Roger game is still pleasure to watch, but the present physicallity of tennis prevents him to win another GS into his tally, atm.

To answer the original question, no definitely not happy. In slams at least, irrespective of what lies ahead in the next match I always prefer Federer win his current match. Some of the items you mention may mitigate the disappointment - certainly a loss in a tournament where I had high hopes for him would be more disappointing than a loss in a tournament where I would not expect him to win anyway - but it is still a disappointment.

Yes Tenez, agree. The better fitness wins tomorrow match. The first three games will show us which way could match go on. I would say the first set is really decisive one. If Nole wins it, then Nadull will show his nervous theatre.

Appreciate the comment wow. Unfortunately Tenez doesn't like it when folk prove him wrong as is evidenced by numerous occasions on here where he calls someone a wum who doesn't agree with his opinion.

--------------------------------
That how it works paul, isn't it?. Not having Pete would have kept Borg's legacy at the top GS much longer. Not having Roger would have kept Pete 14 almost unbelievable. Not having Nadal, Roger's haul would have been 22 slams by now. Not having Djo, Nadal would be breathing down Fed's 16... its all like that in tennis.

Jonty, I think a lot of people here are not very open to other's views. But i know that you are not a WUM. At least not with me.

All I feel that we can still have interaction and discussion despite of having different views and opinions.

Wow, you're right, seem to be a lot of closed minds in the tennis forum. You're right, I'm a fed fan too, but doesn't mean I can't appreciate other players achievements.

Yest rotla,
there is a problem with organizers who go by slowing surfaces and slowly balls in hands for Nadull, that is irritating. Sponsors
and there is couple other things which Nadull can get through as nobody else, but many can not see them.

----------------------------------------
That's true. I have known some posters for years and read all their views and it doesn;t take me long to recognise those who have a good eye for the game. In that respect I admit I am not very open to some posters views cause I know they can only be right like a broken clock is right twice a day.

Iam afraid i see Jonty as a wum. I don;t mind the fact he doesn't know much about tennis, but turning a proper conversation about injuries into me (or him actually) accusing a player of lying was really stupid. There is no way around that wow!

Tenez, like I said, Fed asked if he was injured, he said he wasn't, you insist he is, therefore you are insinuating he is lying.

You've already admitted you're not a tennis pro, nor a physiotherapist, I would not be surprised if the closest you've come to playing the game is having a Wii.
