How exactly? As the Captain, he should have done his best to ensure that Mellberg was not completely unmarked for both of his goals.
His cross for Carroll's goal was superb, but that was his stand-out moment.

Why bash a player who has actually proved to be very important to us? He's set up half of our goals and yet still gets bad comments, why dont you focus on a great display by walcott rather than talking about Gerrard. In my opinion yes Gerrard could of passed but most players woul dof taken that on. Gerrard was great tonight as was parker. He hardly did anything wrong. Why should he be picke don for conceding the goals when the defence should of dealt with it. Ashley young was also at fault for one of the goals.

I am not bashing, I've said he has had some highlights but failed to fulfil his duty as captain and organise the team. His lack of positioning and over-exuberance belittled his age.

You havent even given a reasonable answer, what really did chamberlain do against France except use a trick to get past a player once? Phil Jones is poor defensively and doesnt cut it at CB. Ive even seen united fans groan that hes being played at cb and he was also at fault for all three of basils goals against united that knocke them out of the champions league.
Ox wasn't that brilliant against France but he's 18 and is a huge talent.

Chamberlain isn't even an established 1st team starter at his own club and at his first big international show. You're not seriously going to give him (or Jones for that matter) and the massively capped England veteran, the same benchmarks of performance judgement are you?
