Yes he did - in the build up he was actually trying to take the ball off Walcott, but was out run and decided to go and take OXO's space in the middle instead.
He could see exactly where OXO was and ran into his space. When the cross came over he could help himself trying to take the glory instead of letting a young exciting England player get his career off to a great start.
Terrible play by Gerrard that will win him no respect as a captain.
he shouldn't have been in that position when we have a winger there anyway, we were holding onto a 3-2 win in a must win game
