Not been as happy about an England performance/result for something like 10 years, I'm enjoying it, F all the moaning, I don't care. Well said OP.

Doesn't mean I suddenly think we can win the tournament, but for a minute there I lost myself in the moment!

If I criticise a Liverpool player though I get accused for singling out Liverpool players and being pathetic. How about I actually think that they've had a bad game. I can't say anything on this site about a Liverpool player without getting accused of WUMing. Really p!sses me off.

Thing is in this particular game the LFC players were pretty much our best players, with the possible exception of Theo, who I've already said was the game changer. Read through the match thread and you'll see what I mean....

Its a shame that its come to that its just some posters ruin it for the majority. If a liverpool player has a bad game thats fine but its when some fans decide to blame the club they play for instead of the player that makes it so irritating.
Carrol scored today but all that people wanted to do was make jokes instead of supporting him, that really winds me up.

only Parker plays for a small club

we should be able to broker a treaty among the other big clubs

Not Arsenal, not Liverpool, not Manchester United, Spurs or Chelsea.

Is it Man City?

I said to my mate tonight "i don't rate carrol or milner but when they play for england, i'll support them" welcome to the hypocrisy of international football, gerrard for liverpool= 'orrible scouser, gerarrd for england=

Also, in hommage to the OP article title, The Clash, This Is England.

Just a suggestion but for the next England match why not get an official match thread going and ban those who are obviously just there to stir, wum or abuse other clubs players.

Read last nights thread it's pretty easy to tell those who were posting negative comments because they care about England and those who were just having a go.

I love reading peoples thoughts during the England match but there was so much nonsense last night I thought about trying a different forum 2 or 3 times (figured it would be the same elsewhere to be honest!)

I am an Arsenal fan, not an England supporter. However, even if I was an England fan I would still say that Gerard is a greedy so and so because his greed and glory-seeking could have easily cost England the game.

Thought young was anonymous last night. Good player but hasn't done much this tournament.

Terry's legs have gone. Think that's a problem for us. He made some great tackles & headers etc but was far too easily turned by ibra.

Walcott changed the game and I think he may be used as an impact sub by rh. I think he deserves to start

Rooney will come back in presumably at the expense of Carroll?

Both Parker and gerrard looked cream crackered again. Think rh made a mistake by leaving carrick at home but there you go.

Or maybe Gerrard was trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck, like he's done in countless occasions in the past. There's a lot of pathetic Arsenal fans who are intent on picking up every little thing a Liverpool player does and using it to wum.

No terminator it was him seeing his name on the back of the papers. Nothing more, nothing less.

so petty and tribal

gerrard is having a good tournament

We got very lucky last night we played a very average team and nearly lost

Pathetic and small minded. So what about Theo's shot? Straight down the middle of the goal, he just just lucky the keeper was hopelessly out of position. 90% of the time its in the keepers hands and everyone asking why he didn't play it into the area. See, it's easy to pick holes in anything.....

Leon Osman should've gone instead of Milner.

i thought we did quite well in general. We defended very poorly for around 5-10 minutes and imo can't single out Johnson for their first goal, i thought the whole back 4 was at fault for that for the lack of communication and understanding with each other their, Johnsons shouldn't have played them offside, but then the entire left side of the defence shouldn't have left melberg free.

People saying stevie was greedy, imo opinion he had as much right to go for that as Chamberlain.

My 3 main concerns at the moment with the team is, that

1) the midfield becomes too deep when defending, almost becomes a back 6/7.

2) Young- been really poor so far, not sure why he may be shattered not sure.

3) Milner- solid enough defending but offers very little going forward.

Gerrard SHOULD have left that cross for the Ox but under the circumstances I can understand why he didn't.

It was a split second decision, he had no way of knowing just how well placed AOC was and he took on the responsibility as captain.

The question we should be asking is "did the ox shout for him to leave it?"

Good point.

Ox would not shout "Leave it" to Stevie Me

It was just a case of the senior player taking control of the situation but messing it up

Funny because before that, he tried taking the ball of Theo too
