Im not Nanis biggest fan by any means but even I wouldnt suggest selling him......yet.

And who we do replace him with? Bale?

No, not Bale.

There are very few wingers in the world who can replace Nani, and none of them are available. Selling him would make no sense at all.

If Nani didn't play for ManU, the British commentators would be calling him one of the most overrated players in the world.

But what we end up hearing is constant excuses for the Premiership lad...

It's a strange one, i'd rather we kept him but he can be devastating when he plays on the right but is frustrating on the left, Valencia has been brilliant and consistent on the right but that's the only position he can play so Nani may want to leave, if we got good money for him i wouldn't be gutted if he went to be honest.

Would be massive mistake to think another winger would come in and be better.

Nani is one of worlds best

My point is that if Man Utd were to sell him, who do we exactly replace him with?

Furthermore, money is tight at OT and any potential right wingers (to replace nani) would cost a fortune. For example, if utd were to sign J Rodriguez, utd would need to pay £30m +.

Players of manis style cannot be consistent. Not even ronaldo is does it every match

I've got to be honest. I haven't read a post on here for a while that has stated that Nani should be sold. When I last read a post by someone that thought Nani should be sold, the poster was in the minority. There is a reason for that. Not many Utd supporters think Nani should be sold.

The issue is, bar last season he has not been one of the worlds best, certainly not on a consistent basis, he is at his best maybe 2 or 3 times in 10. Over the length of a seaon Valencia is more effective.

All of this 'Nani can't be replaced' is a load of balls. We have seen the likes of Ruud, Becks, Ronaldo, Cantona, Keane and co come and go yet we have still been successful.

I don't want him to go, he is a very good player, but if he thinks he can hold the club to ransom then I'm afraid he can do one.

Nani is overated. Nan is better.

Nani is not one of the worlds best. He is only consistent in his inconsistency. Yes, every top player has off days. But when they are off form, are they as bad as Nani? I don't think so. And i also think that someone who is one of the best in the world shouldn't have as many off days as Nani has. At his best he is brilliant, at his best he is awful. Which occurs more often? It's debatable and it shouldn't be if he wants to be considered in the light that so many of our fans hold him in.

At his worst he is very good

One of the excuses I hear for rooney is that his performances are often down to the players around him not being upto his level

Yet I look at Nani for portugal (outstanding and so far their best player) he has non of the 'inconsistency' puts the ball on a sixpence first time, isnt 'greedy' and try to do everything himself, tracks back etc

do you think maybe its the players around HIM that is the issue?

I do think nani may go, not for the reaosn some cite though, but simply looking at SAF's history with 'flair' players. He prefers the valencia (who is very one dimensional imo) types

At his worst he is wasteful and ineffective. It happens way too often for him to be expecting to be on wages with the likes of Vidic and Rooney.

He is a player who can come up with individual brilliance, when he is out of form how often does he cut inside and get nowhere near the target? How often do his crosses not beat the first man?

He is just inconsistent. If he had 3 or 4 seasons like he did last season, he would be a great player. As it stands he is just a good player.

Suppose it's down to opinion, I prefer consistency.

I'd add he seems to always have the bit between his teeth when playing for Portugal.

BB - that too

I also remember his reaction after rooney got taken off in the CL (the sitting down at the corner flag and looking as if he was going to pass out), it suddenly was a nani possessed and a nani who looked immense imo

I honestly believe that his creativity gets 'stifled' at utd. I also believe we should build the team with him in mind

As I have always said its the nani types who get success in the CL.

Yeah I remember that, worked his socks off and looked motivated. Perhaps that is the issue.

He is suited to European football I agree, he'd be suited better to Spain or Italy.

Seriously, wonder man, if you think nani at his worst is very good then i think you are either nolhman under a new guise or are in denial. Admittedly, i am Nanis harshest critic. But i fail to see how anyone can think Nani is anything other than awful on one of his frequent off days.

Nani is a world-class footballer, selling him would be a massive blow for United.
