There might be a few more clubs interested that could inflate the price.
I can't think of any other team that would want him and can pay that much ?
Chelsea-no
United - No
Arsenal - Doubt it
Spurs ? Maybe if Bale goes
I like Johnson, but as our total transfer budget is rumoured to be only around £25/30mill I can't see us blowing half of it on one player.
He's probably on ridiculous wages as well.
Shortlight we will be selling players and we have saved on wages with Kuyt
We deffo need to let a ciouple go,spearing, aqua, adam, for starters, not to bothered if cole goas as well.
From what I hear, there is no transfer budget as such... we'll pay what is needed for players who fit both the team and the transfer policy. I can see us wanting him - young with potential but can improve the team immediately, and at that price it's a deal worth doing for us.
BOWEN.

That's not what Rodgers said at his press conference.
From league champions to Liverpool?
I could see United making a cheeky bid and Arsenal...possibly European clubs as he has the class but Manchini seems not to rate him...which is strange
Tippy Tappy,
Spurs ? Maybe if Bale goes
======================
If Lennon goes.
Can't see city selling to utd to be honest!
If we were to spend our budget on Johnson and Sigurdsson as replacenents for Kuyt and say Aquilani or Cole it wouldn't be such a bad thing. Wed probably break even or maybe reduce the wage bill and have undoubtedly strengthen the squad and maybe even the first XI too. That's what we need to do each year. Baby steps toward a brighter future
the reasons i reckon he could come to us is:
the move is 30miles up the road(not that far)
regular 1st team football (won't get that at Chelsea, Arsenal, maybe Spurs)
Brendon's footballing philospophy is appealing and he can use him like he did with Sinclair
The big one: we have a georgie clan of downing, hendo, carroll....he should comfortabley fit in.
I know its all rumours but we have all this ahead of other clubs that might go for him.
I like transfer time when we get linked with everyone gets you going don't it

All we need now is some Caughtoffside rumours

I'd agree with your overall statement but I'd be very disappointed if we only signed those 2 this summer. It's glaringly obvious that we need a striker and a really good one at that.
Johnson
Sigurdsson
New striker
And I'll be happy but if we fail to get a goal scorer, we'll just be recreating the same mistakes of January!
Try and ship out cole, aqua, spearing, adam, try and bring in siggi, johnson,de jong, and if skerts buggers off, replace him with kjaer.
We need to off-load: Spearing, Aquilani, Maxi, Downing, Henderson, Adam, Pacheco - that would give us easily £20-30m towards the budget.
I wouldn't bat an eye-lid if we then paid £15m for Adam Johnson. However, if our budget is say £30m and we spend half of it on the lad, i will be seriously concerned.
I know we need players in,but i'm more concerned with who we can get rid of.
Youre not wrong KLS, and with articles out stating that Inter are broke and looking to offload Castaignos for short money, this is the type of deal we should be all over. Young, eye for goal, blisteringly quick and reportedly cheap.
Firstly the club would be mad to say they had a large transfer budget as clubs will just ask for more. What is said in press conferences means nothing.
I have also heard that Johnson is not on mega wages. I hope this is true as it would add another dimension to the team and would be the flair and pace we have been craving for on the right.
Anybody know how that coutinho has been faring at inter?..he looked a very good talent.
I'd heard (not sure how accurately) that Liverpool came close to a deal for Castaignos in January. Not sure if it was loan or buy. Would be superb if we went in for him again and got him.
