I wish you would shut the fack up about this standing ballaks darn.

Infuriating Lou ain't it.
even more so for the poor souls sat behind me
You don't like 'choice' then
Anyway,
You shut the 'fork' up & answer the following.
Are 'you' a Sportsman..or a gamesman ?
Or is that a bit TOO hard for you
Loui should clear off to the family stand where he can sit in near silence and enjoy an unobstructed view throughout the match.
Darn - Once again i whole heartedley agree with nigh on everything you say, If only they would listen to our suggestions modern footy would enjoy a rockin atmosphere in the stands, While on the pitch refs would be respected (they dont change their minds) and players would not roll around like camp fairies while suffering no more of an injury than a broken eyelash.
I jos getting so bored o darn an his stand up sit down ting now, he's lucky to have an ass to sit on, just tink about all those who havnt got one.
forget the standing bit..not going to happen..the dead horse has been well and truly flogged..
I dont want respect for refs, just for players to shut the f-ck up when decisions are made..
some of the stuff said to linos is appalling and would certainly in other "trades" be worthy of a punch in the face..
most players make more mistakes in 10 minutes than refs do over a season..
should be a concerted effort made by government downwards to remove footballers from the "role model" idea...
cheating is and has been accepted for quite a while in football, along with all the professional "excuses" that are mouthed each weekend etc by managers/players etc..
basic wages with good appearance money and even better win bonuses, see some good games then along with all the "players" who spend half the season out with "tight hamstrings" and heel/toe/knee/calf injuries that cant be found by medical science.. usually at christmas....
wolves paid about 80 odd million to abject failures last season.. of course some of them were not up to standard but they were taking the wages.. paid by results and they would have fought tooth and nail for every game..
managers get a lot of stick but start treating footballers like adult employees and not "talented and easily upset 5 year olds" and we might see a better share of the blame...
its not a sport its a business... footballers have to be brought in line with the rest of the "working" population and start proving their "worth"..
I'm also with Loui on this standing up lark. Life forever keeps going forward so why the hell would anyone want to frigging stand whilst watching a footy match?
Lets face it, those small in stature wouldn't be able to see if they were stood behind someone taller, crowd control would be more difficult and there would be more chance of injury if the crowd was packed like sardines right behind the goals etc, etc.
At this rate those calling for standing will soon be calling for leather balls with innertubes, boots with laces, officials dressed in all black, grassless pitches during the winter month's and possibly horse drawn transport to get them to The Galph and back.
Just accept that standing would involve turning the clock back and nobody wants to see that, least of all the police, the football authorities and the vast majority of level headed fans, so just get it out of your minds because it's never going to frigging happen, not in a month of Sundays - Amen.
Why would anyone want to stand.........asks Mirf !
likewise Mirf, It's opinions that's all,
I can't for the life in me understand why anyone would 'want' to sit to watch a game.
And there we have it.
'One size' does not 'Fit All'.
Same location, Wembley stadium,
except 1 week earlier, West ham v Blackpool.
The very 'end' allocated to Town was occupied by the Hammers supporters, who.........
STOOD UP. CORNER FLAG TO CORNER FLAG, THE WHOLE GAME !!!!!
No one got crushed, there were no fights, & I assume much like the England v Croatia qualifier, (a couple of seasons ago) Where the same scenario prevailed, everyone had a rocking good time. But most importantly,
NO ONE who wanted to 'sit' was inconvenienced because they would (or should) have bought their ticket to sit, unimpeded, down the touchline side.
Much like is the accepted 'norm' at Anfield, many other British grounds, & most of the German stadiums, where terracing is perfectly acceptable & provided as such for fans to have a 'choice'.
How 'wooly' headed can you be Mirf ? You of all people should be calling for this option to be provided by our club who's ethos is to promote 'respect' both on & off the field (apparently) ...but No respect or provision for those who's choice it is to want to stand
Double standards.

gentleman like your self defending the wicket at the other end.....Both ends covered .
It is often 'asked' why would anyone want to stand when seats are provided, as an assumption of an 'obvious' that everyone wants to sit !
lets look at the past, when a choice was provided,
Leeds Road in fact,
prior to promotion to the 1st division in 1969, only 4000 seats were available of the 55,000 capacity.
This was increased to 6,000 after promotion.
This option to sit was taken by some, but not all, as there were seats available most games, which indicates when fans had a genuine choice, they preferred to stand. The price difference also varied between x2 & x3 the cost to stand.
Where is this price differential now !
where is the 'choice'
Mirf suggests 'We don't want to go backwards'...?
I think we already have.
So lets think straight Mirf, (& like minded)
How much better for you would it be, to be able to sit in peace, no worry or chance of anyone ever standing up in front of you, left alone, your choice made and respected, that would be a good outcome, right ! Right.
So, on that assumption, Doesn't it make sense to have a section detached from all those like yourself, where by those fans can stand, & enjoy the game their way.
& on past evidence, with a fair price reduction for such an option, That said section would prove very popular.
another bonus for adding such a section is 'crowd participation' ! All around the world, standing sections are the one's who provide the 'atmosphere' that players crave & thrive upon...
Do you disagree ?
I'm right aren't I.
Who do the players run to after scoring.
Which parts of the crowd do they acknowledge in union,
It's not the Lawrence Batley 'upper' is it. or the Panasonic 'either' tier ...
9 times out of 10 it's the far end of the Kilner Bank, The so called 'singing section'..
And the same scenario at every other club too.
Hoyle has called for 'The 12th man' syndrome many times, Captain Clarke has asked for 'The crowd to get behind us & give us a lift'..as do many players across the country . never mind what 38 says about it making no difference, of course it does, As confirmed by managers & players alike week in week out. And that atmosphere my friends is not provided by sitting down in near silence, Why Hoyle & Clibbins can't see this, & work on a beneficial solution to this on going problem is able.
Lets just see which games are the most enjoyable this season, the one's fans remember, win lose or draw.
They will be the ones where the South bank is full of visitors, all stood up, singing & cheering on 'their' team... & in turn, the Galpharm faithfull will want to respond in kind, but will be constantly harassed by needless rules & regulations that are hypocritically ignored in application when applied to the travelling fans .
Mr Hoyle.
It's not hard to work out.
As things stand () Your input & assistance is required.
Darn,
Thing is I can't for the life in me understand why anyone would want to stand when seats are provided, whilst as for the lack of atmosphere from all seated fans, don't say that to the mighty Kop at Liverpool or the Stretford Enders at Man Utd.
Personally I can't come up with a single advantage for standing but I can for sitting, such as less fatiguing, better view of the game, no bodily contact with other fans, less risk of injury when a goal is scored, little chance of being crushed etc. etc.
We don't stand at Cricket, Tennis or Rugby etc, so why advocate standing at Football, because it makes no sense at all and Deano should turn a deaf ear to your calls for standing and while he's at it, he should rename all the Stands, "Seats" to remove any future misunderstandings.
Everyone stands up in those stadiums you mention ! People get off their seats to sing!
Indeed Wethers, Mirf has just mentioned two ends where nobody sits down throughout the game, They remain standing !,, As for Rugby,, Both codes allow terracing in their stadiums and more often than not these terraced ends are the busier,, Saints new stadium provides two terraces, As does Wires.
they are still talking/discussing hillsborough on an almost weekly basis..
its not going to happen anytime soon..due to the above...
wasting breath/time isnt going to make any difference..
id prefer to stand but my opinion/your opinion wont make a government or the fa/football league re introduce standing/terraces at football matches..
give it another 10 years, then try again, possibly.. do any of you see a politician or a football rule maker with the "gonads" to even try to make this happen at the moment???
no...
Look you lot that want to stand go an stand on kilner bank as they is loads of room for you there.
Sick of telling you guys to sit the fack down every facking wk, blocking my kids view every facking wk, show some respect you fackink thugs.
Disappointed with that reply Mirf,
Poor by your standards, not addressing any of my concerns or opinions in an objectionable manner. More of a 'wum' reply.. You and Me don't do that to each other...Do we ? Alas Loui even shoots himself in the foot with his Jovial contribution..
"Sick of telling you guys to sit the fack down every facking wk, blocking my kids view every facking wk, show some respect you fackink thugs." ??
A wee bit 'colourfull' () But clearly, another advocate for a Standing section, so he & his young un's don't keep being inconvenienced by people standing in front of him...! I assume you too wish that was the case Mirf,
& I appreciate, You being of an 'Older' disposition. You wishing to 'sit' through out the game, Must be a bit of an ordeal to stand for 90 minutes at your age...
Unimpeded Seating for Mirf & Loui
That's What I'm talking about .
Well having just returned from the Giants game i was surprised to see over two thirds of the FM lower stand missing ! Obviously going to be some new stuff in place for next season,,, Funnily enough when i was having my half time tab an old guy i was talking to did say to me "You could put a cowshed end on that patch of land, Shame they dont", It wasnt you was it Mirf ???
Darn/Brycey,
I'm not trying to be flippant or funny, but I just don't understand why anyone would wish to stand through almost 2 hours of football.
Surely if you were on a bus, train, at the cinema, Doctors surgery, or any other venue, a normal person would much prefer to sit and conserve their energy whilst watching the entertainment on display.
Since you have so far failed to state the exact reasons why you would prefer to stand, perhaps you could elaborate and then I might have more sympathy for your "standing" crusade?.
Mirf.
Thanks for the reply.
You don't need to understand 'why' fans prefer to stand. !
Just as you don't need to justify 'why' you choose to sit.
The whole problem is having no choice, & being told what to do. When previously there was a choice & 'we' could decide, for ourselves.
Unfortunately, The way the discussion has evolved has had a negative effect. Where by 'us' who would prefer to stand are to an extent ridiculed, & denied our choice.
No where has it been suggested that your choice as preferred sitters is wrong. Not at all. Good luck to you ... & by Golly, isn't it time that, at €25 quid a seat you are all provided with padding (a-la MK Dons) & your own individual arm rests..That's progress Mirf.
I don't blame Arroloui for getting 'vexed' everytime someone blocks his view... It's wrong. But there is no need for that situation to exist anyway.
A solution is a phone call & the stroke of a pen away..
It's an easy fix, that regular contributors to this 'site' are well aware of.
If Hoyle & HTFC inc were to cater for all, everyone wins.
We are 'bound' by EU law when it suits 'them' ...& Not 'under obligation' when again..it suits.
The Taylor recommendations were a knee jerk reaction, not thought through, hasty implementation & un necessary.
anyway. To elaborate 'why'.. I just like to stand Mirf. being seated makes me feel 'detached'.. I have never been aware that I needed to conserve energy at a game ! On the contrary, Just like at both Rugby codes, MotoX, Speedway, It's standing ....for ME. (of course I appreciate not everyone feels that way)
side issue,
Smoking in pubs, That was another blunder.
I can't do with Smoking...I don't 'get it'. BUT.
To ban the practice from every Pub was crackers.
'They', The powers that be, In my opinion should have also made provision for ALL.
Either left it up to the landlords.
designated 'Allowed/NOT Allowed' premisses .
or picked a handfull of Pubs 'Smoke free'.
That way everyone would have been catered for.
We really do have to respect each others choices & get along with each other a whole lot better than we do.
This 'divide & conquer' format is too easy for them.
We fall for it every time.
'They're' laughing at us.
i r efer all to my post above..
its still too close to the tragedies..
neither government or the clubs/fa etc are going to make the changes you want..
I am and always have been a perfectly respectable football fan.. I am aware, especially away from home, that there are a good number of daft lads(of all ages) who need "barriers" and "rules" and governments and safety "experts" will say that seating has been a success, in respect of these people inside grounds..
You cant win as long as we carry these people within the clubs "support"...
Darn - Having just returned the other week from a short trip to Amshterdam, I will have to add (nothing to do with footy) that we were drinking in a couple of bars where the smoking ban was simply ignored, The bar man told us on entering that the pub allowed smoking, He also told us the bar next door didnt,, The non smokers in our group were not bothered in the slightest,, I will add that non of the non smokers found it too smoky due to the layout of the pub and a decent size extracter fan on the ceiling,, It was not a bar full of tourists, In fact there was far more Amshterdammers in there than Brits,,,, One rule for some and another rule for others.
Very true & a valid comment 38.
Those characters you mention ruin the Saturday afternoon experience in many ways.
Alas, Thugs can & do sit down too.
That should not be the case to endorse a 'One size fits all' approach however.
proper hard work needs to be carried out at all levels to ensure everyone is catered for.
&. regardless of any counter arguments offered for debate on this issue. The fact remains......
The L666s,
Wednesday,
& maybe Hull, Boro , B'burn & Bolton fans will virtually fill the South Bank with all occupants Standing !
Why & How can they do it, & we the home fans can't.
Just a 'pedantic' nit pick 38.
you say "neither government or the clubs/fa etc are going to make the changes you want.."
You have stated elsewhere you would prefer to stand (given the option)....We are in this together, so...
not going to make the changes WE want would have been more like it >ok>
