well is he going to get ahead of messi?

I think in most ways they're similar. They both have similar pace. Good, but not the most important aspect of their games, Ibra is obviously taller and stronger, and is better in the air, although RVP scored a few headed goals last season. Shooting, I don't think you can separate them. Both have powerful shots, are good poachers, can score goals from inside and outside the box. Both are good dribblers considering they aren't 5'5'' and aren't really fast, for me RVP edges it as I've seen Ibra's first touch fail him too much. Both are very capable passers. Ibra obviously has the attitude issue, but RVP is a bit arrogant at times. Never really too arrogant though.

Good post

A proper and accurate summary in a quite hilarious thread.

AFL he truly made me smile so much that day, not because it's Arsenal but his performance was so facking good

All I remember from that game is Boateng doing us, Ibra scoring a penalty and Henry coming on and doing something beautiful and hitting the post or having a shot saved. If only it had been 3-0 instead of 4-0. Or even better, 4-1.

Ibra really tore apart your defence with his creativity, the amount of chances he was setting up the forwards. The ball just slid through your defence so easily or it went through the air and landed on the targets feet cleanly.

But surely that was also to do with our defence playing badly.

"I got credit "

From Jayram. Some credit.

Boateng is average. He's got powerful shots, and is strong. But offers nothing else.

Exactly VRF. Obviously, I don't have very fond memories of that game, but I can remember the way that he physically bullied us. He was picking passes like Xavi or Iniesta. The effort thst he,put in was something that I'd never seen from him before. Some of his through balls were mesmerising.

At the end of that match, I sat in my living room shell-shocked but in the realisation that I had just seen one of the greatest Champions League performances of all time from what is such a maligned player.

Andrei it was a bad day for you lot but you managed to repent in the second leg

"But surely that was also to do with our defence playing badly."

If that's the case, then RVP scored all those goals cause the opposition defending was shiite.

If I could hug you I would, 100% agree. People that put down such a great player really should follow another sport, you'd literally cream yourself if your side got him

Boateng backheels it loads too. I think every touch in that game other than the goal was a backheel.

'At the end of that match, I sat in my living room shell-shocked but in the realisation that I had just seen one of the greatest Champions League performances of all time from what is such a maligned player.'

I wouldn't go that far.

Andrei, don't get me wrong, we were diabolical. However, Ibrahimovic was the reason why we lost so heavily in my opinion.

He then followed that up with a pathetic showing at the Emirates. He is quite the enigma.

Milan got very complacent in the emirates, they thought the tie was over because of the 4-0 result but boy was they wrong. If Arsenal got an away goal at the San Siro I believe Milan would have still turned it on

posted on 24/6/12

Yeah, maybe. I wish we'd have just gone that extra yard and scored a fourth.

Jayram if Wenger got Ibra do you think RVP would be stalling over that contract?

Still doesnt take away the fact Ibrahimovic was abysmal at the Emirates.

Ibrahimovic and Van Persie? Very close, but Robin edges it for me.

No, I think he'd confirm quickly that he wanted to leave.

RVP would ask to marry Wenger if that happened.

I'm pretty sure that Allegri stated that there would be no complacency. I'd like to think that our gung-ho approach unsettled them slightly.
