It is disappointing that a club without a manager has seemingly pipped us to a signing.
it's going to more of a european system where the club buys the players and then has a head coach to caoch them, as opposed to a british style "manager" overseeing everything. Chelsea in particular have been doing it for a few years.
I would rather have a player that wants to play for Liverpool over a player that only wants money. He will probably end up at City soon.
who have we lost out on?
Has there been a confirmed transfer?
If not, then I don't see the point in getting upset about rumours.
This will eventually hurt the teams that do this. You need a manager in place so you know what systems will be employed. Fair enough if the manager is in place and everyone can see the problem has been the defensive midfielder not being great and the owner goes away on his own and gets the best dm in the world available. But without any system its just guessing and FM nonsense

Everton have the old manager system in place
We just dont have any money to spend
I don't think it matters when you sign players of quality.
Of course it does. This is why international teams often struggle.

Hang on a minute here - Spurs finished 4th last season and look better placed to finish above Liverpool again next season. Why does it have to be that he has gone for money simply because he has/may have decided that Spurs are the better option? Maybe he believes that they offer the best chance of CL football?

I agree with this and also that London would be a far better attraction to a foriegn player.
It's a somewhat fair comment Elvis
If you leave out the bit about their best player (Modric) leaving, their second best player (Bale) saying he's in the shop window, and their manager left.
Is it just me or has anyone else noted the complete indifference in the appointment of a new spurs manager completely opposite to the abuse and criticism liverpool received for taking their time with the appointment of a new manager.

1. Won't the lad be hoping to fill Modric's place.
2. I thought I read that Bale was staying for another year at least?
3. Maybe he knows who the manager is going to be, or at least the names on the shortlist?

Anything to do with it being the end of the season?
I fail to understand your point? AssumIng you are trying to make one

no, they have differenent roles and are quite different as players
dunno about Bale - thought he said he wanted to go and wanted CL
maybe that's changed.
He's a VdV type
sorry, I somehow added a sentence in the middle that was meant for the end

But neither has it at the moment. And why would he put his trust in a managerless team that could go either way over one with a manager he obviously believes in (swansea fell through as he left)?? Saying tottenham have good chance of getting champs league is ridiculous at the moment. Spurs fans love saying harry took you from relegation to champs league, why cant another manager do the opposite??
I think us fans worry too much about teams having no manager.
Players care about three things: money, where they will live and club prospects. In no particular order.
I don't believe they care too much about who the manager is.
