When Celtic were in the doldrums and near extinction prior to Fergus McCann stepping in, Rangers were on one of their biggest 'highs' and lifting trophy after trophy.
However, while the attendances at Ibrox were great for the first few years, they gradually began to drop off more and more each year even as the magical 10-in-a-row became a distinct possibility.
No doubt, without Rangers as competition next season (and for how many more who knows), crowds at Parkhead will be on the "up" for a while but, just as in the Rangers case, real football fans (of whom Celtic certainly have more than their fair share) will soon tire of watching "easy" games and attendances will drop as human nature always dictates.
Let's see what the SFA, SPL and all those other clubs and fans who are currently so keen to "put the boot " into the 'Gers in fits of prejudice and past injustices (perceived or otherwise) fare when the money starts to dry up and part-time football becomes more than just a possibility in places other than just Greenock, Falkirk, Inverness and Fife.
Scottish football....shooting itself in the foot again.....(we'd be World Champions at that without a doubt!)

Really does show your upbringing,
Lets be fair here lets have two sets of rules.
One for the Old firm
One for the other forty teams in Scotland.
Is that what your saying?

No Scottish football doing the right thing.
Do you not like being in the wrong and every other club should rally round to help?
