Too many teams playing negative football

I only turned the match on yesterday at 85mins. The corner kick when Spain passed it right back to their GK was a real low point.

You got lucky then. I won´t get those 85 minutes back.

Thought this tournament would be boring, but it's pleasantly surprised me. All it's missed is that 5 star match which stands the test of time, and that one emotional roller coaster team. Best way to sum it up as a whole would be forgettable. But the football's been intruging.

I thought the group stages were ok but the knockout stages have been a real let down.

They're all too afraid of losing to go out and win the game.

It´s also lacked any 4 star matches or even 3 stars for that matter.

Another problem is there has been no real shocks or surprise packages. At best you could label Italy as the surprise package.

Let's face it, how many people predicted a Spain v Germany final, and it looks like that's what we'll get.

Chelsea's CL victory was always bound to have an extremely negative influence on this tournament.

Personally i really enjoyed last night's match, but it seems i'm one of few that did. It was good to see spain get knocked out of their stride and have to resort to a tactic other than sideways passing for 90 minutes, considering it was 0-0 it was an enthralling match. Not any chances, but a good tactical battle in the middle of the park that really could have gone either way.

The only downsides really were the way the commentator sounded like he needed a tissue every time ronaldo touched the ball and the ref (appointed apparently by the by head of the spanish fa in his role as head of the ref's committee ) being absolutely ridiculously biased towards spain.

Agree with Didi, I thought the group stages were actually very good. Spain have been dull as dishwater throughout with flashes of brilliance. Portugal and Germany have been the most entertaining before Spain nullified Portugal last night into the height of tedium.

Most folks out there want to see goals. Goals = excitement is the formula for the average fan. But the last matches have been exciting in their own way for those who appreciate the strategic element to the games. Differ styles of play in opposition. Sure be nice to have a few more goals, but the tension is still there for all to see and feel.

From what little is saw, the amount of times players were rolling around on the ground was pretty bad even by modern standards.

The first half last night was quite entertaining.

The rest was a total non-event, bar maybe the last few minutes of extra time and the penalties.

It's all very well having a nice tactical battle, but there were zero chances throughout. The whole point of a tactical battle is to try to find a way to goal. Both teams failed miserably in that respect.

6-5 Germany in normal time then tonight? Neuer overhead kick to win it

I don´t remember a proper shot on target yeatserday. Certainly not one that remotely tested either keeper.

Ronaldo fluffed his lines yesterday, thought he was awful.

2nd best player in the world ? Not on that evidence.

I have 5 German defenders and the GK in my FF team so hope they keep a clean sheet.

I have a feeling that Italy might do it tonight. Germany have the better side but Italy invariably get the better of Germany.
