mirf..clarks influence was very much on show, long after he left..

he would have burst a blood vessel by the time we nearly shook him off at mk dons..

grayson still having to try and work with midfielders like johnson(always injured) miller(?????), gobern(what??) robinson(well clarked), roberts(disinterested) kay(gone off completely),ward(allowed to become too heavy and too detached from the games) Cadamateri(sick note) etc etc..

Grayson finally getting through to p clark about not defending like its Rourkes Drift!!!!!!! which in itself is close to being a miracle..

yes it was clakes squad...a good number of which are on the way out of the door..

we got worse as a team the longer he was in charge..

I havent even mentioned all the sh-te we had on loan at different times..none of which was cheap..

mirf, he lost, you lost..in the end town finally won..

I dont care what he does now...

38,

You say "we got worse as a team the longer he was in charge" - but isn't football a results driven business where if you don't win then the next best thing is not to lose.

So, didn't Clark's last 55 league games in charge only result in 3 defeats and include a 43 match unbeaten run towards it's end.

I'm sure if you ask the vast majority of players, managers and ex pros working in the game what they thought of such a record, they would be unanimous in their praise - all the TV & Newspaper Reporters and pundits such as Linacre, Hansen, Townsend, Merson, Le Tissier, Nickolas, Stelling and many others were forever singing the praises of Clark for his sterling efforts.

Finally, you say "I lost" - wrong again it was win win all the way for me, because I said all season that we would get promoted and we did.

Admit it 38, you were wrong most of the season and you never thought we would win promotion, hence the reason you now find it such a bitter pill to swallow and are unable to give any credit whatsoever to Wor Lee.

you dont read the posts of others properly mirf..
you skim them and then do a post from one or two things you think you saw in them..
I think you will find, as boots did, that i called it right more often than not..and more importantly i called it well before the actual deed..
no hindsight posts..

wembley being a prime example.. "a dull game with few chances" extra time at least....

mk dons at home.. similar story, called it right..

lee clark, for almost 3 seasons.."not the right man for town"...I was right, he got sacked and we got promoted..he didnt..

he will now fail at birmingham, the expectation is too much for him..he will alienate players and fans and he will fail..

You read it here first..

38,

The easiest prediction for anyone to make is that such and such a manager will get sacked, because 95% of all of them do in a short space of time.

Ask yourself - will Grayson be at Town in 3 years time and how many others will still be in their jobs - not a lot, if any, so predicting Clark will be out at Brum is no great prediction is it?

As for you calling it right more often than not, I didn't notice you predicting that we'd beat Sheff United 3-0, Brentford 4-0, Exeter 4-0 and Wycombe 6-0, all on their own patches?.

Four away games, four wins, 17 goals scored, none conceded and 12 points in the onion bag - who says Wor Lee couldn't manage?

7 away wins all season.
Poor.

Only 4 away defeats - Brilliant.

44 away goals scored - best in League One - Fantastic.

when the time came for the big games..we lost to both sheffield teams at home.. we couldnt win enough games..forget the scores against wycombe and the like..brighouse girls grammar first 11 would have thumped wycombe that night..
sheff utd away was one of the better performances but there was never enough of them.. he sh-t himself too easily and played for draws in games we should have been looking to win and win well.. Some of the draws looked to me, and others, as though the managers had a "nod and a wink" and both teams played out a nothing last 20 minutes..
unforgiveable... just to keep an unbeaten record intact, which in the end proved to be "smoke and mirrors" for him being unable, with all the money that charlton and wednesday had, to get anywhere near automatic..
forget the blades, we dont support the blades and their demise in the play offs is a very welcome one for us..
facts are we couldnt catch the top 2, nowhere near, 3rd gets you nothing as we know from experience.. the job was to get automatic and he wouldnt have got it for us as long as he has a hole in his ars-..

Under Larry we failed to beat relegation fodder such as Bury, Rochdale, Preston and Walsall, but we still got promoted, so what does that tell you?

That Wor Lee wasn't half as bad as you make out, because he couldn't have done any worse.

The loss against Sheff Wed was under Larry, whilst under Wor Lee we beat runaway League leaders Charlton and drew at Hillsborough and put 4 goals past them, which no one else managed to do on their patch.

Mirf why does it matter this much to you?

I am genuinely curious as you are not letting the LC thing go. The fact is he failed to get promotion 3 times in a row and then on the 4 time Dean called time on it. I personally liked LC but it was proven to be a good move to get SG in as we got promotion.

LC has moved on and so should you, either to move on to another topic or go and support LC at Birmingham. Its getting duller then a JKB rant now and is spoiling threads.

Will you lot please note that I never bring up the subject of LC myself, but only respond to others who seem obsessed with continuing to slag him off and discredit him, even though he is no longer part of Town.

So if you don't want to see anymore comments from me regarding LC, then the solution is in your own hands - Don't keep f-cking mentioning him in derogatory terms, otherwise I'll continue to take the bait and defend him and his record

Which was poor & disappointing with what he had at his disposal. Mirf we ALL can't be wrong.

owl..
if we try to win football matches that will do for most of us..
I watched brighton a few times and blackpool, that will do..
blackpool making the play off final is something everyone should be looking at.. manager got it right with his players coming in and played the same way home and away and whatever the score was... The supporters knew what they were going to get week in week out, ok it wasnt just enough but it was damm close and it did better than leicester/le-ds etc who spent fortunes playing the "big" club hand....
there are a few clubs in this league now who had better be carefull playing the "big club-sleeping giant" bollox..
I dont see town as being either, we are just making up for lost time over the past 3 years..

liw..
bates got "stuck" paying, in his mind, stupid wages at the club..

as you have seen, he has now knocked that right on the head..
freebies, minor fees and players who will leave due to not being "offered/paif" enough..

does not stop a very large section of the support playing the "big club" card whenever they can..

and they will do so again next season.. its taking a while to get through to some of them..

in relation to blackpool you paid a fortune last season..will that do???

Its been like that for two years.

You just say things to suit your arguement at any given time.

I see straight through you, you just guess ( wrongly most of the time) at everything.

Do you even know how much blackpool spent last season

instead of looking like a hovis everyday, why not do a abit of research.

Spent a fortune compared to blackpool
