Well where I am there is actual blue skies! At last some decent weather.
Bat first and you win I say.
Chris Woakes to smash a 100, and take a 5 wicket haul on his home ground.
From what I've seen it's going to be changeable until around 6.00pm so batting first might not be the best idea.
Inspection at 2-00 announced.
& disappointment at 14:15 no doubt

According to BBC there is 4 possible hours where there will be no rain. They need to be clever and reduce the game to 35 overs a side if not even less and we will get a result.
Gower said it will take at least 2 hours to get the outfield sorted
2 hours!!!!! This is England, cant take that long.
Don't they have the 'Brumbrella' at Edgbaston? That covers half of the outfield as well as the square doesn't it?
The weather at this moment in time is fine, but it's the outfield that is wet. It's been raining like mad for ages, why they didn't cover the outfield in the past 2-3 days is beyond me!
And, if this was a Test Match they would've got the outfield ready, why not for a ODI game, test match days have experinced worse days than this and edgbaston has been ready, but they're not ready now!
The Lancashire and Yorkshire game better not get washed out on Friday, even I'm looking forward to that!
I cannot see any play to be honest it's getting darker and I can tell a shower is waiting to happen...
6.00pm is the chance for a 30 over game.
Well if the outfield had been ready they could've been playing now I just feel in a couple of hours it's going to bucket down.
Amir you can can put your full trust in me, after all I am sitting here in sunny Holland.
George Dobell, covering the game for cricinfo at the ground, has tweeted that he thinks there's little to no chance of play today.
Its also sunny in Manchester so it looks like Birmingham has now taken the tag as the wettest place in the UK.
Didn't they get rid of the brumbrella
re inspection at 16:00 then - called off at 16:15
Well it's not even rained today, the problem is the outfield, we're going to have a game called off because of a wet outfield, ffs!
so they have got rid of it then....
I've never heard of the Brumbrella!
Australia's national selector "This is the best we've got"
Steven Smith, Forrest, Johnson... Are the best they've got!
once
before your time maybe..
I love it that the Aussies have got jackshit to choose from..
The sun is as hot as hell here in Holland and it's often similar in the Midlands so the rain will stop. The question seems to be the outfield, can it be made fit enough.
If the Umpires would stop kicking the ground when they do an inspection it might be OK.
next inspection 17:00
Aint going on today ....
