RVP probably wants us to spend big on star players and compete for trophies. The club is committed to the self sustaining model.
He wants investment. The club refuse, simple as really. We are an old fashioned club fighting in amongst sides with much more investment than us. It's not a problem necessarily with ambition.
100% agree with this article. My main concern was not RVP's decision to leave, but the reason he gave for this decision. Hopefully it was just rhetoric for him to avoid appearing money-grabbing, but I think that might be wishful thinking I'm afraid.
The club is committed to the self sustaining model...what does that mean? I am so sick of people defending management. We dont have to break the bank, but we have to retain quality and consistency. I wish I heard rvp request. He probably requested a decent centrback for cover and attack midfielder, that is all.
Lack of ambition equates to lack of money, there is no way any team is going to be competitive against the sugar daddy clubs City, Utd and Chelsea.
If we had Man City's wage bill we would be bankrupt in no time, thats without buying the players first.

We are not operating a self sustaning model. We are operating a model to maximise profit. Two TOTALLY different things.
