In a nutshell yes
I shall award you 5 stars before the bandits show up
That's harsh, give the guy a break he has all this seventy six years carp to contend with and at twenty five he still has time on his side to win Wimbledon just needs a bit of luck.
The three you've named are all naturally better tennis players.
That's the reason he's not won one, is because they are just slightly better. Nothing to do with anything mentally
nadal is not naturally better.
He just never lets up but his strength is learned not innate.
leedstillidie! you are off yoru rocker dude
nadal is far better than murray
Leedstill die
Complete rubbish mate, nadel is without doubt naturally better
Who do you think is more upset about his defeat? Murray or his mum?
Bluebells
I saw his mum today, as early as the second game of the match, giving it the big clenched fist, screwed-up face, and the "Come On! Come On! Come On!" and that was right at the very start when he was winning!
In contrast, Lendl stares impassively. In Murray's upbringing I think he would have benefitted from much less of the former, and more of the latter
It's too late now, I'm sorry to say, as I cannot imagine a Grand Slam final in the near future without either Nadal or Djokovic and they are both well ahead of Murray in technique and attitude
What does it matter
You obviously haven't got kids, or don't care about them if you have.
Because i'd just be has gutted I my child lost has they would be
Blue proff
You've probably just made the most stupid comment I've ever see on here.
Dont know where you've been but nither was in the final today
LIW
My point was that as early as the second game, his mum was as wound-up as hell and I didn't think that display of tension would have done her boy any good
(I'm going to ignore your pathetic and ignorant point about how I feel about my kids)
Blue Prof
Initially,Murray looked calmer than usual and I felt he could win, aided by Lendl's coaching,as opposed to his Mum's.
Fed is a winner though,while Murray is a contender,sadly.
Prof
That children comment wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at the stupid forest fan comment
And I agree with you about his mum to a certain point
It was just you saying you can't see any time soon a final without nole or rafa
But nither was good enough to get to this final
His uptight Mum has obviously created an uptight son, who gets angry and wastes energy at the wrong time,so Blue Prof is spot on.
Fed stays cool and wins....................
Why is Mum no longer coaching him LAM?
I love my wee girl, but could not coach her to success.
There seem to be some people on these boards very upset a bout something....
You must have been watching a different match, Murray did not give up.
Apologies LIW
I thought today represented a fantastic chance for Murray to win a Grand Slam. The world's number one and two players were not standing in his way
You have to go back 11 finals (The Australian in early 2010) for an occasion when neither Nadal nor Djokovic were there and that's why I thought it represented a fantastic chance for him to break his duck. He is now 25. His two main rivals looking into the future are Nadal and Djokovic. Both are Murray's age and both are better tennis players, with greater mental strength
That's why I fear today may have been his final big chance at the top prize

He got beat today by a player who is a better player
If he got beat by someone who he is better than, than I think it's right to have a go.
Just not quite good enough but not for the lack of trying
Murray is 4th in the world until somebody knew knocks him to 5th, 6th, etc. Hopefully we won't have to suffer his mug in later rounds of tournaments for long
You need to give time to see the Lendl influence.
We've seen in this tournament.
Better focus and better body language from Murray.
He had 4 BPs in second set, take one of them and second set was his.
He is definitely going in the right direction and I now believe is a real contender for US Open.
Nole has had stuffing knocked out of him going from invincibility to not even making final now. Rafa has had a slap down and all the lower ranked players now feel they have a chance.
Murray should have no shame for his performance and losing to a class player, he will get more chances if he sticks with Lendl.
Pro
I agree it was probably his best chance, but you never know they may both fail to get a final again.
I think it should be noted he destroyed the fifth beat player in the world, in the semis
Jonty
He didn't exactly 'give up' today but his body language, visible to us all including Federer, (but excluding you perhaps!) was that of a beaten man. It was all so negative and depressingly familiar to Murray watchers....the grimacing, the slumped shoulders, the huffing and puffing, the helpless arm gestures. The crowd tried their best to get him up but he was having none of it
