Outwood White you dont need to go to games to look at the stats do you? So please come down from your high wooden horse mate!

what stats mike.

He score 13 goals last season, nearly 1 in 3 games.

Brillant for a winger

You made out like losing Snoddy was no big deal. I think its a disaster myself. If we were to replace him with somebody decent it would cost about 5m. Theres not much chance of that happening unless this takeover gives us a major financial boost.

We are likely to replace Snoddgrass with Varney! Sorry for me that wont do. You even said he was our best player last season

I think it would be a kick in the teeth though if he goes to Southampton. I think I could just bout take Villa but they have to relegation candidates surely?

There is a rule here:

A leeds player is great until we come to sell him, then he's rubbish and easily replaceable.

My initial statement was..

"Wouldnt miss him too much, he lacks the extra yard, doent score enough and has no plan b when doubled up on. Gradel was a bigger loss."

I never said i wouldn't miss him, i said i wouldn't miss him TOO much. My personal preference in players and their styles does not include Snodgrass, i prefer the Burkes of this world as i like all action wingers.

Burke had a good season, lat year but overall he's been average and not a patch on snoddy.

Two caps for scotland at 28 says it all

Well lets just see what happens first.

Amen to that!

One thing I didn't expect to ever see anywhere is the likes of "We can do better than Snoddy" and "No big loss".

Him McCormack and Becchio are probably the only decent players we have left.

Snoddy doesn't beat players with pace, he beats them with skill. He might not be pacey and as exciting as Gradel but Gradel ain't here any more. Snoddy is, and if we lose him before the season starts we really are in trouble because there'll be no takeover happening.

They should make a weekly comedy/tragedy based on Leeds Utd. Or just stick a webcam inside Elland Road.

Snoddy to Southampton or Villa?

In my book that is a MAJOR blow. Yes, he's a skillful, creative and intelligent player who scores goals, beats players and sets up chances but also he is club captain and Warnock has been more or less begging him to stay.

If he goes, he knows something we don't, and that is that Bates is staying to screw us even more than he has done already.

Holy maloney, why can't we read a bit of good news for once!

A blind man could see that Snoddy is, by a long shot, our best player.

Mike if Snoddy was that easily replaceable then why is our manager trying everything he can to keep him?

I also agree with LIW with regards to Howson.

Yes its all about opinions on here, however, some peoples opinions are wrong.

We are following Arsenal's model of running a football club. Charge the highest ticket prices in the division, then lose captain after captain because you can't afford to keep them/meet the players ambitions.

He's not going to Southampton, this is the guy that told us he saw Snoddy at West Ham training ground! Villa are reportedly in for him, but again, that's just a rumour, there will be teams wanting him desperately and yes some fans will say he was rubbish anywaywhen he leaves, but the majority of Leeds will be furious if he leaves, he is by far our very best player, he turns defences inside out, crates and scores goals.

Where have i stated he is easily replaceable? Infact where have i insinuated he would be easy to replace. The ONLY thing i have mentioned is another player who i rate.

People need to take the time and read things properly.

With regards to "opinions", by definition an opinion cannot be right or wrong only agreed or disagreed with. It is when that opinion turns into "a coherent hypothesis" can be judged as right or wrong. Just sayin.

Once we get rid of this over-rated Snodgrass and McCormack trash and bring in some more of Warnock's cherished "targets" our full strength XI should look something like this...

Kenny
Lees
Drury
Pearce
Kisnorbo
Brown
Norris
Green
Varney
Becchio
Pugh

...I can almost taste promotion already

Is Ross trash?

This thread reminds me of the stagnant days in the early to mid 80s when our only half decent player, Ian Snodin, left for Everton. I thought we were doomed then. We weren't, and we won't be this time.

Glass half full, and all that.

So we're going to sell our second club captain in 6 months. Wow.

Snodgrass is a fantastic player. His technical ability is great, and yes, whilst he is a bit slow, surely it shows what a great player he is that he still manages to create, beat players and score goals despite his lack of pace.

His passing is brilliant as well, look back at most of Beckford's goals for Leeds and I think you'll find that Snodgrass probably set up about 50% of them.

Gradel was a more dangerous player, maybe not a better player, and like people have said, Snodgrass suffered when he left, because he got doubled up on and didn't have as much space.

He would be a massive loss, but he is replaceable. It depends on the money we get for him. If we sell him for a feeble price like 1 million then no, he's not, but if we get 2-3 million (which I doubt we would, due to the clearly incapable negotiable we have at Leeds, then we can replace him.

We hear this every time we sell a player, yet the money never goes back into replacing with an equal or better player unfortunately.

Jonty, spot on The 2 players we have sold recently in Gradel and Howson for fees we still haven't got a replacement for either.

Promotion season BECKFORD
1st season back in Champ - GRADEL
Last season - SNODDY
------------------

If Snodgrass is sold, then for five bonus points can anyone tell me the pattern in relation to these players.

Your clues are 'player of the season' and 'sold'

Mattyp
That is the exact pattern, it's very worrying too.

And throw in Captain, that usually helps move them on too........, Howson, Lonergan, Snodgrass......

Mike
Promote Paynter to captain, and Connolly to Vice captain, sharpish.

Glass half full.
