Ramsey to decide on Shawcross' Wales chance

I think Ramsey should say 'no' to take the pees.

Not sure why the national team manager would need to consolte any player about who he picks, even though that player is a like Shawcross and should be shot.

So basically Coleman is saying I will leave the decision as to whether or not a footballer gets to represent his country down to the individual feelings of another player? Seems unfair to me

Is Shawcross Welsh???

posted on 11/7/12

Yes, he went to Butlins in Barry Island when he was a kid and qualifies through that.

By making this public it puts Ramsey in a terrible position. He will be damned if he does and damned if doesn't.

Ramsey has lost so much by that injury and now media games by the new manager.

I would say no.

If I were Ramsey I would insist Shawcross dances the marcarena at the Emirates' canons....naked in the rain. And then maybe I ll think about allowing Coleman list him down for the Welsh B team.

this is the dumbest thing i've ever heard happen in the history of international football. Coleman is a big joke. He is saying just because shawcross injured ramsey, which is absolutely normal in the game of football, he has to ask the permission of some 21 year old before a man can represent his country? Gosh! this is beyond silly. I think shawcross should not even accept any invitation to play for his national team of these are the conditions.

You would have thought Shawcross had molested him in hospital after the way these mopes are carrying on!

It should be up to the manager who he picks

Himself. Aaron hasn't ever forgiven Shawcross. To be reduced to a gamble from at one time being labelled 'Gerrard with passing ability' is quite a fall.

There is a difference between getting over an incident and genuinely forgiving the perpetrator. Until Aaron rediscovers the pace and so fulfils the potential he had before his injury I doubt he will ever forgive Shawcross.

It is very mischievous by Coleman. I suppose he is getting Aaron back for the lukewarm welcome when he was appointed.

Then he's in the wrong sport FFS.

I hope nothing like that happens to you. Not everyone is as magnanimous as you.

What a joke. If I was Shawcross I would tell him where to stick it. 50/50 tackle (not even a bad one) and Ramsey's a about it. It happens in football.

If he can't accept that and forgive him then he's just a bitter idiot.

Yeah I know. Jeez. Imagine not liking someone because they smashed your leg into 7 pieces and potentially ruined your career, eh? Pathetic.

It was a bad tackle. He dived in over the top of the ball, wanting to intimidate Ramsey and got it badly wrong. Yes, it was an accident, but if something like that happened to you I doubt you'd forgive them.

I also think saying that Ramsey is a or bitter idiot about it is ridiculous. He has never publicly criticised Shawcross - the only thing he has done is refused to accept an apology from Shawcross, something he is entirely entitled to do.

Coleman has put Ramsey under the spotlight in a bad way, so that idiots like you who think "Shawcross should tell him where to stick it" believe it's Ramsey's decision to question Shawcross' inclusion.

Yes, he's entitled to do it. Ramsey flicks the ball away from under Shawcross' feet and every Arsenal fan think he's the devil.

Maybe I worded what I said wrong. I mean, it's not as if he means to hurt him, it was just a poorly timed tackle and unless someone goes into hurt them, they should be forgiven. He was clearly upset that he had broken the guys leg and offers an apology as soon as he possibly could. Yet Ramsey declines it which leads me to think he's bitter.

I think it's clear Shawcross went in hard, unnecessarily so, in order to try and make his mark on Ramsey and prevent him from getting into the game - commonplace in football but quite nasty. I do not think he meant to break his leg, though.

Ramsey was simply too quick, but the end result is a terrible injury which has almost certainly damaged his career. The chances are that it'll mean he'll end up earning significantly less throughout his career, and be an inferior player to what he could previously have become.

An analogy would be if there was someone you didn't like in your office. There is plenty of banter around, and the bloke you don't like clips your heels once. You fall awkwardly and break both arms. There are complications, and you can't work for a year, although you still get paid as the company are generous. When you come back, however, you cannot type anywhere near as fast, and you know you'll never get earn as much from promotions as you may have previously. Would you say it's bitter if that person is then told to work with you and you don't really want them to?

I'm sure you can say that you'd be fine about it, but you simply wouldn't.

Get over yourself FFS.

It was a bad tackle, end of.

You really think he intended any of that when he attempted the tackle? It was a tackle he was entitled to as the ball was there for him to win, but for Ramseys quick feet.
