I haven't seen enough of him to give an informed opinion. I have heard from others that he isn't very good and even more he's ok.

who have you heard from??.....chelsea fans in london who haven't even seen him play or maybe saw the match highlights of the dutch league somehwere!!

Are you guys really interested in cahill?

Im not.

we should definitly keep him rather than spending 17m on cahill, ive seen a lot of him in his various loans and hes a solid defender and will become better learning under the likes of JT. Hes also a big threat from set pecies as we saw last night.

Even if Alex goes, which i dont think he should especially not for the 12m being talked about, id keep raijkovic. We can buy Van Der wiel for a lot less than cahill and sell bosingwa/ferriera. That gives us 2 RBs and 3 CBs with Ivanovic also able to move to CB if needed and younger players like Kalas for 5th choice. More than enough imo

No way. You can have Ferreira

Isn't there that English quota we have to fill? Thats probably why we're interested.

I mean, why else did we buy Turnbull?

Lot of rumours suggesting a £12 million fee for Alex has been agreed

If we are to buy an English defender I would have thought Richards or Onuoha would be a better bet seeing as they're more versatile and able to play RB as well

I would also rather we keep him instead of getting a new CB. He's started for two of the best teams in Hollaf in his one there and while Vitesse are pretty rubbish he started there as well. He's also in and around the Serbia squad - since he was 19 - and was included in the 30 man preliminary squad for the WC before getting dropped, but he does have Ivan, Vidic, Subitic and Kolarov in front of him after all. Ive never seen him play but when searching on google, other people who have claimed to see him play rate him highly while a couple of people on this forum don't so Im not sure exactly how good he is. Like others have said on this he unfortunately doesn't count as homegrown as well. Overall I'd probably prefer to just give him a chance...people might come out with the same old arguments like he's to young or inexerienced. He's turning 23 next year and has nearly 100 appearances at club level, and over 100 if you count his international appearances.

how many people who rated him here only did so because he scored a goal yesterday?

posted on 13/7/11

I've wanted him to be given a chance since we've been linked with a new CB.

PS sorry for not having para's in my above comment

ive also wanted him in our squad for a while now

Anyone who knows me knows I like English players!

I'd honestly rather have someone like Onouha or Richards over Van Der Weil, I don't get the biggun, everyone judging these little players like World Class stars because the media have mentioned them..

I've rated Micah for years but I doubt we'd go/get him cheap, and he isnt worth anything more than 15 pounds but I feel City would ask a lot for him.

But Onouha could be cheap, REALLY impressed me last season at Sunderland and I really reckon top 4 English clubs' problems is that they don't take on English talent at the 20+25 age, and we moan as Englishmen for poor World Cup performances, if we actually gave talent a chance we wouldnt be a poor team internationally...

I've always looked out for Rajkovic too, been compared to Vidic in the way he plays, some say he's actually better than Bruma...We'll have to see this season!

Richards would cost too much. I like Onouha too but City would probably demand around the same price as we could get VDW for. I was hoping our 2nd choice RB would be more of an attacking threat (basically similar to Bosingwa pre-injury). For only 10M VDW would be a great deal IMO.

I to would prefer an English RB, but I agree with CSTP I'd rather it be a more attacking version to contrast with Ivanovic. I think Richards and Onuoha are more attacking than people give them credit for but I SSS what CSTP means. Maybe someone like Walker, Naughton or Clyne would do, but Walker won't get sold, Clyne hasn't developed that fast, and while I wish we took a chance on Naughton ( yes he's in the Championship but so was Walker at the start of last season, and Naughton was actually considered better than Walker and was one of the best RB's in the Championship) you just can't see it happening.

Rajkovic is rubbish. I watched Vitesse as much as I could last season because of the Chelsea players. Matic was ok, Delac never got a sniff and rajkovic has went backwards a mile in the last 2 seasons. he takes up a non home grown space in the squad which we can't afford to waste on someone like him

Is Kalas the best out of all our young CBs at the moment then?

I like Kalas and Chalobah equally. Chalobah will be a star eventually but will probably end up in midfield
