kp out... was quite right by saying kp wud be out between 30-40
267/3 at stumps.
Englands day
saffers seem to be desperately missing a spinner. tahir is nowhere near test level.
tahir was so hyped by them since wc. I dont know how he got a test entry. is the best spinner they have in their county? would hv rather gone with botha. but also u hv to see it was only day 1.
Just got in and am seeing the score and well well well what would you know
Don't worry though south africa, there is no disgrace in being the number two team in the world and try and hang onto that spot for a while because the number one position has gone for the next 5 years.
Our bowlers are excellent and we will absolutely marmalise in this series, as expected
Pity KP got out when he did but it was England's day and I wondered where this great attack of SA was. It only woke up with the second new ball.
Bell coming in withe a new ball is not bad as when he bats at 3 he's used to it.
That was one boring days cricket, no wonder the players are all heading off to India for the IPL.
Under 270 runs in 90 overs, when you can get over 200 in just 20 overs in the IPL.
RIP test cricket.
Sandy, you clearly know nothing about test match cricket at the highest level
Enjoy your pyjama cricket though, it's perfect for the modern kind of person who needs permanent attention, has the attention span of a gold fish and everything has to happen yesterday.
This series is between the best team in the world, and the second best, although that bit makes me laugh a little.
Sandy, test cricket is chess, the IPL is ludo.
Fascinating days play. Ignore the moron above.
On the surface it's clearly Englands day, but they haven't got away. Collapsing to 350 all out is not impossible and would leave SA in touch, so there's plenty to play for on day 2.
From an England pov lets hope the pitch deteriorates a la 2009.
The forecast is for showers tomorrow.
hazsa. I respect you for being cautious buddy, but this england team, in england, will not collapse. This first test match is over for South Africa and now they can only fight for a draw.
Our boys will pile up the runs against this attack that I never thought was anywhere near as good as all the rubbish i have been reading about and then our bowlers will give them some chin music.

The i p l is rounders, and the cancer of modern cricket.

Come back when YOU win an away test, neon, not an away series, but an away test
Even a drawn test will do
