Yes?

I am struggling to see how Lucas is a big name player.

1. You had never heard of him until last week.

2. Lucas only has five letters, RVP only three, so they are really short name players.

I've always said this about Everton.

Every year the club finds itself being linked with the likes of Riquelme and in more recent seasons Beckham and Owen

The fans fall for it every year

It's like United make and offer (frivilous or not), and the other team says. yes or no...easy ennit! Like window shopping.... but sometimes you find bargain. Or trick 'em into believing you don't really want or need that player, and get him on the 'cheap'.

yeah lucas moura, arguably the best young player from the most successful footballing country, is a complete unknown muppet.

I believe that our club struggles to compete in the transfer market with certain clubs which are able to spend considerably more than they earn and a couple of others which earn a lot and get to reinvest all of it.

I don't believe there is a high-level conspiracy to hoodwink fans into believing that the management has tried but failed to buy star players. What would that achieve? Would we all feel satisfied because the club had at least tried? Wouldn't it be somewhat counter-productive to repeatedly raise and shatter expectations, with fictional attempts to buy star players underlining an impression that we won't have financial muscle? In what universe would canny operators consider this a tactically useful thing to do - even if we assume they were sufficiently unscrupulous to do it?

Moreover, as far as I recall most of the players on that list were linked to us via newspaper gossip. Fergie denied that we had made an offer in some cases. He commented that that there had been some interest but no bid was made in others.

And why do we now look 'certain' to miss out on the present two bids?

Owen would love to go to Everton. If they really wanted him they would get him, on a pay to play contact, too.

Seeing as we had agreed a deal with both Lille and Hazard to sign him, this article is bogus.

Just think how frustrated we are with all these transfer sagas year after year imagine how Sir Alex must feel. If the game didnt have agents then transfers would be far quicker and less tedious. If I was Sir Alex i would just say look do you want to join yes or no. If no then bye bye if yes then stop messing around. I agree negotiations can be hard and tedious i have had experience of this myself but im starting to not care who we sign now, just get on with the season

I think he does. That is is first question. Do you want to play for Man United or the highest bidder?

As Matt Busby said, 'you dont have to chase money at Man United, it finds you'.

I was basically talking about the Spanish big two. I know they do get into debt (especially Madrid) so it was a bit of a false generalisation. However, I still seem them in a different category to the billionaire-funded nouveaux riches clubs (Chelsea, PSG, etc.) in that they do generate massive income and they can spend stupendous amounts without getting into debt. Of course, for certain Real Madrid presidents, that hasn't been enough and they have piled on the debt on top of that. I guess Bayern Munich are in a comparable situation of a fan-controlled club that has large income.

Their clubs came out and said we had bid first. Sir Alex just confirmed it

We also agreed a deal for Hazard, as did City and Chelsea

You're adding 2 and 2 and getting 5

Were you saying the same things when we bought Irwin for 600k, Schmeichel for 500k? the twins? OGS? Evra? Vidic?

Just have a little faith. We have signed a brilliant player in Kagawa already this some and a potentially brilliant player in Powell. Add to that we spent 50 million last summer too and in the Glazer reign there have been countless signings including 30m Berba, 14m Nani, 17m Ando, 16m Valencia

Sir Alex says the club is working hard to bring in other players too. Sir Alex is a winner, not a yes man for the Glazers.

like they both dont want him but they dont want the other to get him either
