Poor lad is well out of luck
Christ talk about sheyity luck hasn't his family been through enough recently.
Stay strong Jermain, stay strong.
he already lost his dad and had to fly home from the euros in June
i went to uni with two of his cousins...... i hope its not any of them.... its sad and he is in the wars.. but he has a massive massive family so i guess its always a bit more probably of this kind of thing than when its a small family
Lost his brother a couple of yrs ago as well
he is having a bad time of it
Didnt he lose his brother not long ago?
All the best Jermaine.
think it was his half brother, not sure though
No it was his brother , killed in a street attack
I dont mean to play it down because its dreadfully sad either way, but what type of cousin was it, 1st cousin, 2nd cousin?
Chronic went Uni with two cousins, one of his cousins used to be at West Ham (Edgars), so i'm wondering how broad the family line is here.
As i say, i wish them to rest in peace whoever they are, was just saying.
if he's flown home though it must be someone he's fairly close to.
Family is family friends come an go family is the most important thing in my opinion.
Cityblue, true but lot of people never see or even know theri cousins.. not seen mine for yrs and be lot more upset if one of my close friends died, every family is different
all we know is when the grim reaper comes calling , its time to say goodbye
I just hope i get to see Tottenham win the title before my time is up
Ah poor lads not getting much luck is he
That's a shame. Feel deeply sorry for Defoe with his cousin and Dad dying in the same year.
Sad news yet again for JD.
Very sad, poor guy, what a time he's had...
Chicken, I don't think it matters - obviously it was a relative close enough that he felt he had to come back, right when he would have most wanted to be with the squad and take his chance in the team. The nature of a blood (or other) tie can be completely irrelevant - I am closer to some of my cousins than I am to my sister, for example.
Awful news. Just as soon as he starts to get some normality in his life again and get used to his dad passing away he loses a cousin. Horrendous couple of years for him with his brother being killed. Thoughts are with him and his family

I think i already made the point that i wasnt playing it down, but i think its pretty fair to say that the death of an immediate member of family is likely to be more upsetting than say, your cousin's cousin.
I also agree with Weare when he sasys that friends can sometimes be far more important in one's life than a distant relative.
And Cityblueloz, i think the more well known saying is "You might be able to choose your friends, but you cant choose your family", which kind of refers to the point Weare & myself are making, that friends are often thought more of than family.
Although i appreciate this isnt always the case - but i was just adding it on here for debate purposes.
i think we're over complicating this one lads
