fact. wanna know why its gotten worse? money.
them oil s at chelsea are behind it.
my interest for football is gradually decreasing.
I'm sure in ten years' time you'll view this as a golden age too.
Schevchenko has announced his retirement btw
Club teams were rubbish in 2004
Poor WUM attempt.
Only Chelsea was rubbish in 2004
Yeah that was a great time. Also you could have anyone winning world player of they year award. Now it's just Messi (but this should be a testament to Messi because I think he would've been winning those awards every year 10 yrs a go too).
4 CL semi finalists were Porto, Monaco, Chelsea and Deportivo
Real Madrid came 4th in La Liga.
A team with Casillas, Zidane, Raul, Ronaldo, Beckham and Figo...fourth
CSTP either you are idiotic or wumming, either way you're not worth the time.
and that is why football was so good. you never knew who was going to win what? now you just have s like chelsea ruining it.
Club teams in 2012 were rubbish. Proved by Chelsea winning the Champions League.
they were good times, now it's the sugar daddy era.
I am a Chelsea fan but OP has got a point!Unpredictability made football more entertaining in 2000s!
'The days when Ronaldinho would do things with a ball that Messi today can only dream of.'
Not really.
But otherwise yes. Even though I was a bit too young. For football I wish I was born about 6 or 7 years earlier.

This
I've felt the same for a while now, I miss the likes of Nedved, Davids, Zidane, Figo etc
For your Nedveds, Davids, Zidanes, Figos of 10 years ago you have the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Ozil, Xavi etc.
Everyone always looks on the past with rose tinted glasses and the present with indifference.
I disagree. What Ronaldinho did with football was much different and better than Messi!
Personally I would say not mid-2000s, just early 2000's and the first half of that decade. After 2005 it got a bit sh/it.
While I agree the quality of the overall game has lowered a little since then, arsenal fans would probably look upon that era much more fondly as it was a point when they were a quite frankly more amazing team, whereas now, they have been stagnant and are less successful.
Not trying to have a dig, don't take it like that though.
^ I agree ^
As a Forst fan, I belive football has been dead since the early 80's.

Yes.
Nedved, Del Piero in his prime, Trezeguet, Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Overmars, Henry, Ronaldinho in his prime
the list is endless
