This isn't a dig, but there's so much negativity on the board these days.

We bring in top players every year, and SAF has always been the type of manager to nurture players rather than go out and buy the finished article every time.

I know how you feel mate. We've been used to bargain basement signings at Chelsea for years now. Just gotta put up with it.

Totally agree!

I just think sao paulo are digging their heels in to get as much as they can for him and also to pressure United into bidding more and acting fast.

I agree and i may have came across negative, i just get fed up of transfer speculation. I would be happy to see cleverlay, anderson, lingaard, tunnicliffe and powell all given a chance in center mid with carrick as our strongest player in that postion clearly.

Exactly mate, we seem to get players just to plod along at times, while city buy world class players that will make them challenge on all fronts.

No worries Brad, part of the problem is the media, making a story out of nothing and people will buy into it.

Then again, spending big money doesn't always get you the quality you expect, Torres

Please don't let this thread about a player united definitely won't be signing turn into a torres bashing fest.

Earl I'd laugh if he does sign, I'll make a thread about you and make you say sorry then make you buy a Lucas poster to hang over your four poster bed

Unfortunately until some of the bed wetters see us spending stupid money on players, they will not be satisfied.

Look at the players below;

Valencia
Vidic
Nani
Evra
Hernandez

The most expesnive signing was Nani at £17m. Look at the contributions they've made to Utd.

It's not all about the big spending. The only player on that list that will be valued less than 20m is Evra.

We make stars at Utd, we do not buy them.

If you are looking for expensive signings Chelsea and City are desperate for support.

I'm still trying to work out ways in which we could keep everybody happy if he did sign him, which i can't see it happening personally.
