I don't think anyone is expecting top 4 this season.

5th would be nice though.

I just want to see the team starts to play good football. I think it's wise to give Brendan a lot of time to get it right, I'd say 3 seasons and then see where we are. First we need to get back to top 6!

gerrard said he was confident of a top four finish this season. we won't keep the likes of agger, skrtel, suarez and reina if we don't make the top four.

I'm not a big believer in buying early.

When the market is filled with the likes of Chelsea and PSG then clubs will demand huge fees.

Let the end of the window draw nearer and certain clubs will lower the asking price as nobody wants to lose value on their talents who want away - and keeping those players means that contracts are closer to expiry and in turn, the clubs lose out financially.

Its difficult for clubs in this day - we need to be patient

I agree that we do need to start signing quality, but I have my doubts about FSG's willingness to finance this without sales.

However, there is still plenty of time to bring players in. The olympic games is still on which means that any deals for players who are still competing may not be reported/agreed until teams are eliminated.

Now is not the time to panic or judge. We need to wait until the window is shut to get the real picture.

I don't get the hype with Chelsea, they would be guaranteed top four with a decent manager but RDM has been no better than AVB in the league.

I'd suggest that Allen has shown more ability in 3 games for Team GB than Henderson has shown in the last '2' Premier League seasons.

We havent a prayer of top 4 with the current squad. We are a couple of injuries away from being Aston Villa

You state Ramirez proved he could play in the CM role last night and then criticise the possible signing of Allen?

Allen ran the midfield last night and GB had 70% possesion at one point, did you watch the game?

I would welcome both here.

ramirez can play in more positions, he has a more all-round game. he could be the key to keeping suarez at the club and most importantly, he is a match winner. allen is not a match winner. don't get me wrong he's a good player and like you i'd gladly have them both here. but if its a case of either or (which it appears to be) then ramirez wins it hands down for me
