LIW I agree the squad needs improvement in certain areas but dont you agree the core looks solid. We wont be shipping in 7 goals at home this season.

My opinion on the back 5 comes from the fact Drury is highly rated and was a constant starter during Norwich's promotion. Pearce again highly rated and won every award at Pompey. Peltier I have seen a lot when he was at Huddersfield...he is fast and is a marked improvement on Paul Connolly

So overall I think the back 5 is way ahead of what we had last season.

At Southampton the back line was -

Lonergan
O'Dea Kisnorbo O'Brien Connolly

I can see Exileds point on Gillet and Moussa. I just can't see why we want them.

Sometimes people wait on see what happens, who we sign or whatever then come up with reasons why it's a great move. Nothing wrong with giving an opinion. Time will tell on the players but right now I can't see why we'd want a couple of them.

Don't know too many Forest fans who would refer to the Leeds team with the word "we"...

You had a good run son but now you can shove off.

To be honest sutton I think there is a fine line between a player being successful or otherwise in this division. I agree that some players are not up to standard but few would have picked the likes of Leon Britton before Brendan Rogers got his hands on him.

We have had plenty of big name players in the past who have failed to deliver. I would rather trust SOD to fashion a team rather than have a bunch of players who are out for themselves.

Will just have to wait and see what SOD builds in time for a kick off. Its a venture into the unknown this season...I suppose not all signings can be marquee i.e Moussa and Gillet.

Oh PR ie that post, my brother in law who posts as OssetWhite obviously didnt sign out...you can hardly excuse me of being a Leeds fan (just ask him )

Good point, Professor.

Take McCleary for example...the season before last he was pretty woeful and many Forest fans would've been happy for him to disappear off the face of the earth. Twelve months on and he was consistently our best performer which resulted in a Premier League transfer.

Who is to say that Moussa or whoever can't step up to the plate and do well in the new season?

Is he exiled in Algeria as well? Shame we don't get as much football on tv as they do in Algeria cos you seem to find time to watch EVERY game and make notes on EVERY player in England

He is actually game over with my sister, and he told me about JA606 actually. Btw TEG we do have internet in Algeria so I do watch quite a lot of football. Dont you have opinions on each player we have signed, whether positive or negative? Like sutton said its simply opinions.

TEG going around in circles here mate. I dont know about every player...I have an opinion on most Championship players though and as far as I recall there is 24 hrs in day over in Algeria.

But what are you basing these opinions on. I can't comment on Gillett cos I don't know enough about him but you said the same about Kyle Bennett, I can comment on him cos every time I've seen him play he looks very impressive

posted on 4/8/12

My opinion on Gillet are based on when I have seen him play for Donny...and when he was loaned out numerous times I saw him. He is just an unspetacular signings IMO. Bennett I based on Busbys opinion mainly.

Where have you seen Gillett?

Anyway at the end of the day Guedioura permenant move is great news. At least we have bodies in defence now even though I dont personally rate Collins or Halford but Harding is solid. If we sign Ayala I would be very happy, my judgement is reserved on Moussa though.

We do need a winger though.

Few apperances for Southampton and Donny (loan spell). But I confess I haven't watched him extensivley...but I still have an opinion. For example have you seen many minutes of Jimmy Kebe play for Reading - probably not but you will still hold the opinion he is a good player at this level.

A player on a free is never really bad business in my opinion but I have to question the Gillet signing due to one reason.... his position.

As far as I am aware he is a defensive midfield. Do we really need another central midfielder?

Not saying he is a bad player, but is he what we need? Unless players are due to be sold?

You answered yourself actually by describing as a "defensive midfielder"
