KP grts spoken about because of his personality and his flamboyance. It is one if those things.

What you are missing is KP was a spinner.

His batting game dramatically improved once he arrived at Notts, through their coaching.

Same with Morgan. He has been at Middlesex for years and they made him what he is.

For the record, I personally do not agree with Morgan representing Ireland, then ditching them for Englan

I also feel there should be a limit on the KP's and Trotts if this was possible.

What irratates me is when Strauss and Prior are dragged into the conversation. Both were born in South Africa but raised in England from Primary School age.

I must laugh that in the past the ones who have wummed the most tend to be British Asians. Who are English born but support their Asian heritage.

I hear you Yorkie but you also have to admit that it does look a bit funny & undermining to young English cricketers when 4 out of the 11 players in the england team are south african.

Everyone wants to play in England, from rugby, football and cricket and theres only one reason for that and thats money. Throwing money at the problem doesnt help more so when its being thrown at non-english players.

Im having a mature discussion with Yorke, dont comment if you've got nothing substantial to add. this platform is for everyone to air their views.

Fash,
I feel the ECB have worked hard to change our strategy and maybe even our 'morals' in the last 4 or 5 years.

Every country has imports - Ask the Australian Rugby Union team.

In the past the England Lions team was predominently full of second rate ageing County players who were great pros but not really up for Test cricket... Yardy, Joyce...

These days the majority of the team is young and English. Lads who also take part in a Englush Performance Programme like Tymal Mills. An unknown 19 year old leftie, with raw pace who is given specialist support at a young age.

I believe we also look to get these used to alien conditions - Such as the sub-continent, which as we all know is our major stumbling block.

Another way to look at this is why are South Africa losing the KP's and the Trotts? Is it their quota, coaching set up.

Or is it just one of them things...

Fair point York

I dont know the reason why Trott left SA but i know pietersen just never made the grade there. the others as you mentioned left when they were teenagers.
SA generally is a very lucky in that they've got alot of depth in cricket. hence they are 1 or 2 in the different codes, even though they've lost players to other countries. and they seem to be losing alot of cricketers to England.
They are big underperformers though at world cup time.

But are they that good. Alviro Piterson, Duminy, Rudolph...Even Tahir.

I wouldn't consider any if those 3 class acts.

What South Africa have is a spine if World Class payers - Smith, Amla, Kallis, De Villiers, Steyn, Morkel, Philander. Wow!

Maybe the question you should be asking is would trott get into this south african team in its current form, i dont think so.

Harsh.

Once - I am kixed race English and South Asian before someone turns it into a race row. Nit harsh, speaking my opinion in PC Britain.

If you go to Headingley and watch England play either India or Pakistan you would see what I mean. I will never forget the way a lot - not all - of the Pakustan fans treat Saj Mahmood. It was pathetic and insulting.
