We never needed another striker, just need a versatile right winger i.e hulk that can play striker if needed. Both Torres and sturridge impressed me today
Sturridge impressed as a RW. He can be the RW / 3rd choice striker.
I'm struggling to think of someone who fits the criteria. Because all signing someone like Cavani will do is push out Torres and/or Sturridge to the point where at least one will leave, and we'll be back with a limited number of strikers. May aswell just cash in on Torres to get Falcao if we're gunna do that.
This is why loaning out Lukaku was so stupid.
Lukaku needs the games.
Loan was a good move.
Demba Ba perhaps? He'd be cheap if reports are to be believed.
Maybe Piazon is being looked at as a 3rd striker / false #9
g7day
You're expecting him to play week in and week out then?
Why would Ba leave newcastle where his getting regular football for somewhere where he won't?
Shame Hulk has to cost so much. Neymar would be ideal
Far more game time than he'd get here.
Owen? ....... i know, i'll be saying Heskey next.
I wrote a article saying Owen the other day, no-one disagreeing now
I don't think we should be going for Cavani or any striker for that matter. I'm confident in Torres and if not we have Sturridge, if either of those two are unavailable or out of form then we can slot Victor Moses (very likely to join now) or even Hazard in up top. Or even play with a false number 9 as Spain did as we certainly have the players to do so imo.
I also forgot Piazon who could well get a fair bit of playing time.
WBA have two extremely competant strikers in Long and Odemwingie. They won't waste their time on a wildcard like Lukaku we'll they're functioning well - it's not in their interests. We in turn are light on strikers and it is in our interests to invest our time into Lukaku.
I'm not convinced he's gunna have a too dissimilar experience to McEachran this year. A full back option that's not required enough to warrant justifying the move from our point of view.
I wonder if that's what thè club plan doing with Moses, using him as a 3rd choice CF. I still reckon we'll end this summer with Moses, Azpi and Oscar with no more signings.
Now how could i forget. It's gotta be Andy Carroll.
Chelsea 3rd choice > Liverpool outcast ....... not to mention it'll official cut the Torres income from Liverpool's point of view. Always fun messing with them.
I think we'll make one more signing.
We need another striker, whether it is Cavani is irrelevant.
MO
If we sign Cavani, and Torres leaves in January through nothing more than lack of gametime. What then? Sign another striker in Jan to rival Cavani & Sturridge?
I know we're not shy about p1ssing away money, but that's needlessly stupid.
'Now Lukaku's gone on loan (stupid bloody decision)'
Yep loaning out a young player who clearly needs to play regularly is stupid. Yeah let's keep him at Chelsea where he will stagnant/regress as 3rd choice CF.
Club obviously have someone in mind to replace him.

Still think we need Cavani?
