Keeping Agger

Carroll is worth 20 million alone though, not a penny less

Agree with everything else... i did notice that when Skrtel played with Carra, BR had Carra on the left side of the defence!! For me this is crucial to how Skrtel performs...

I feel if we lose Agger, Lucas or Suarez to a major injury we are struggling

Skrtel is coming into own really. With or without Agger

Together they are class though

27m for Agger is hard to turn down though

We should be keeping Adam. I'd rather have him on the bench as an option than Henderson.

As for Agger, his quality cannot be replaced within our current squad and will leave a hole. So who is out there to buy if the owners decide to invest the money that comes in?

If Agger doesn't want to leave Liverpool, he doesn't have to. He has a contract for 2 years and can turn down a move away from the club, so if he goes it's because he wants to!

Gerrard said it was out of Aggers hands though

It doesn't matter what anybody says, you can't force a player to move.

Downing or Gaston Ramirez?

posted on 13/8/12

How is it out of his hands? He has a contract till 2014, if the club accept an offer and permission is given for Agger to talk to that club. All Agger has to do is say "thanks for the interest but I'm happy we're I am"

Can you honestly see the club not playing him if he turns down the move? I'm not saying he won't go but in the modern game, players rule and go where they want when they want!

Would you really want to stay somewhere, where you clearly know you are not wanted?

yeah i know makes perfect sense what you are saying, just strange for Gerrard to come out and say that on air.

>>Gerrard said it was out of Aggers hands though

he said that's a possibility, not a fact

It's not that he's not wanted, the manager has said that he wants him to stay but if a club offers huge money then it might be accepted. If Agger loves the club so much and is happy here, he just says he's not going.

I think Agger is in the sways of discussing a new deal and wants one thing (maybe more money or certain conditions) and the club have said "there's the offer, you either sign it. Or we sell you whilst we can get the best price"

Just my opinion!

Hmm, another article from SK5 saying we should sell these players. Refreshing, and not at all like your other 10 articles.

Anyway with regards to Agger I agree but I think you're wrong about Carroll and Adam.

By the way, why have you said "Four players spring to mind" and then listed them in two groups a) & b)?

Is it to annoy me?

"True, but if we accepted a bid, Agger would definitely move."

As far as Agger is concerned, it comes down to this. What does BR want more, the £27M or Agger? My own choice is for the latter. JimmyTheRed

And this is exactly my point! If Agger leaves then its not that he's had the carpet pulled from under him and that the big bad nasty people at Liverpool shipping him off.

It'll be because he wants the move just as much as the club!

"Not really. It's because his employers have got a bid they don't feel they can turn down. You just can't stay at a club once that happens. "

================================

You can, it just doesn't happen very often.

Devils advocat...

Are City really gonna take the gamble with him now seeing as theyve already signed one injury prone player in Rodwell?

posted on 13/8/12

The best example is Carroll. He didn't want to leave Newcastle, the club agreed a fee and the rest is history....
----------------------------
Reports are we agreed a deal with Westham and he turned that down!

If Agger wants to stay he will stay, if he wants a move he'll move!
