think he said that in that interview, also remember them trying to hurry it up and he turned round and said they can have as long as they need (thought that was a nice touch)

Its not going to happen.
We have just signed Allen to play the Alonso type role, so why would we then sign Alonso as well? He would also be on big money that we would be reluctant to pay for someone of his age.
Nice idea in theory, zero chance of it happening.
I was thinking in a year or two's time tbh, sort of a Fowler esque type come back.

Its not going to happen.
