The teams will struggle with his pace, power, shooting and crossing ability.

Once his off the ball movement develops that'll be it. Some players push themselves to the top, Bale is one of them.

I'm curious to see how it all pans out, but I can't help but feel that Ronaldo's involved here in some way. Maybe there's some club he'd be willing to go to and who's ready to pay a similarly stupid amount as we are for Bale, but it's being kept under wraps so as not to set the alarm bells ringing and push up Bale's price tag even further.

Ronaldo and Bale in the same side just doesn't seem to make sense. Would you break the world record transfer fee to put a player in a position he's unproven in? Play him in defence? Move your biggest goalscorer (and asset) into a position where his goal return's almost guaranteed to drop?

On the other hand, Ronaldo's approaching his 30s, demanding even more megabucks and at a stage where he either extends, gets sold or will be able to wind down his contract and leave us on a free.

Bale might not be as good as CR and might not be technically accomplished enough for what Spanish football has traditionally demanded, but imo La Liga's weakened enough right now for a 'lesser Ronaldo' to still do well in.

Bale in all likelihood wouldn't command the same wages as Ronaldo, and would still have his best playing days ahead of him.

Rooney staying is very important IMO, most United fans don't seem to care whether he stays or not.

They clearly have short memories.

If somehow Fabregas was to join, I think it would take United to another level, for me he's the best attack-minded CM in the world but hasn't had the chance to show it for some time.

I think Ronaldo may be involved. Bale is becoming increasingly single-minded in his approach to helping the team get results just like Ronaldo did. Either Bale would have to rewind a bit or Ronaldo would be leaving, as I don't think there's room for both of them to do what they do best in the same side.

I'm sure you already know what I'm hoping is behind this saga...

I do think that technically speaking bale would do very well, his crossing and striking of the ball are superior to Ronaldo IMO.
