i think its been ok, we just look a bit blunt up front. suarez as per has been quality but so far downing and borini have offered nothing
West Brom conceded fewer headed goals than any other PL team last season. Bringing on Carroll would be pointless.
well as it stands were 17th
Spot on iCraft and FatJan.
Im just annoyed that suarez missed from about 2 yards!
KK its not bad luck, we had a number of chances from that same position and we hit them into row Z. When in the entirity of last season did we score a goal like that?
Simply not good enough, and can people start blaming luck again PLEASE.
meh, im going to make a tuna sandwich.
we'll continue like this until we buy a top class goalscorer... but no we'll buy some bloke on 7k per week cause its a great business model.
frustration!

No stopping that goal.
This is a bit reminiscent of last season at the moment. Lots of possession some decent chances but not being clinical.
Also, why is it every time Downing loses the ball angry faces etc ,but when Gerrard does it, did it 5/6 times in that half, not a word. Are we already making Downing the scapegoat for this game?
Would like to see Carroll on. Against a team like Caerroll I thin kyou need a bigger presence up front.

Couldn't agree more with this comment, in its entirety.
we have been poor, but patience is needed, by fans AND the players, too many long balls trying to force the game, downing has been poor, gerrard for me has been anonymous, borini has had wayward passing....
but hey, its a new style, a new team, and we are away from home on the opening day of the season, patience and a level head is necessary
Im gonna stick with BR as he has had no time, so dont mis read me
We have Carroll to come on and Cole... I guess
But flooding the midfield with more CM's and the exclusion of Sterling has raised an eyebrow for me!!
Even though our finishing is absolutely rubbish, Allen and Lucas have been excellent.
Gerrard has been poor though
Please no Carroll and we go back to stone age football. Wait until 65 odd minutes.
"But flooding the midfield with more CM's and the exclusion of Sterling has raised an eyebrow for me!!"
I'm disappointed with this. I understand it would have been difficult to leave one of them out. Adam's a game changer, Henderson could fill for any of the midfield three and Shelvey has been great early season but one really should have been left out for Sterling.
neo,
All I'm saying is that goal literally is unstopable! no one made a mistake. So thats just one of those things. And if this goal scoring issue lasts 5-10 games or more then fine, come back and we can have that discussion. But this is the first game of the season. Your reaction is pathetic
Carroll looks tailor-made for this game, the way it has been played so far. Suarez could then go left, where he'd get the chances he enjoys.
id take downing off get carroll on
Bringing Carroll on smacks of panic.
This whole conversation cos they scored smacks of panic.
I don't think it smacks of panic at all, it's a reactionary substitution to make after seeing the way the game is going.
Lads we still have Assaidi for the next game!
Yes one of the midfield three will be dropped for Assaidi next game, I guess.
We have always had Sterling though
