I'm just pointing out that some of the fans reactions are ridiculous by having a ridiculous reaction of my own.

Man city are my second team

Next up... Man City

Even if were to finish 17th this season we should stick with the manager. We need some stabilty and anyone calling for BR's head this season is an idiot.

However, FSG can help him out imo by bringing another option or two before the window shuts.

nobody's calling for rodgers to go. everyone's just frustrated that we have just seen exactly what we saw at the end of last season. lots of possession, rubbish finishing and awful defending. these are good players! there's no way we should be losing 3-0 to west brom even with 10 men.

RODGERS OUT!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you philo but we need to give the players time to adapt to a system where they have to be patient and not the classic pass it well everywhere and then in the final third just smash it in.
Also Downing is useless!!!!!

Bat- I know and I understand exactly how you feel but it just adds fuel to the fire for every other team to slate us. I'm far from pleased with today but when Dowd made a monumental error time and time again it became an impossible task!
He doesn't live far from me back home, he's a pleb.
And no worries sir, I wrote this in anger and you have every right to call me a doughnut haha

What if they both draw

Then that will be the perfect score for you.
Honestly I'm praying for draws in our next 3 home games, I'm not expecting wins in those games!

Geo, Paisley.

Spot on

hopefully some of the fickle muggy 'fans' on this forum will eventually realise just what a colossal task it is turning this club around. If a legend like Kenny can be subjected to some of the infantile abuse he's received on this forum then BR has absolutely no chance.
Sacking the manager as soon as we hot a bad patch (as FSG are prone to doing) is ridiculously short-sighted.
BR needs to be backed by EVERYONE associated with the club. And, as Paisley says, even if we finish 17th this season he needs the full length of his contract to attempt to get us back up where we deserve.

BUT Carra will be playing

Geodude, just stick in there fella, things will get better, don't give up. If some of our so-called fellow Reds want to bash the club up then be my guest, I won't be joining in like a lemming. Our team will improve. Today, we were beaten, all ends up, by a better team, who I hope our fans at the ground applauded them off the park. LFC will recover, it will get better. Trust me. Geodude, it happens after every game we lose. Its ridiculous.

Those who are most vocal are also the most impatient. They were the ones calling for KD's head last year, calling for Carroll, Dwoning, Henderson and Adam to be got rid off after their first season, they're now the ones moaning today.

It was poor today, very poor especially in the second half, but we need some perspective. It was a bad day at the office in one game; our first game of the season. Dominated first half, passed it pretty well, but same problem of not being clinicial. Wonder goal from Gera. Chasing game we get a dubious penalty decision against us and get a man sent off. And then another dubious penalty decision.

Fans are entitled to complain, the Olympic teams set a high bar in terms of their performance and commitment and our team woefully under-delivered..

Whats the Olympics team got to do with it?

This is the first game and an acid test of how the players respond to a very demanding way of playing.

We got it right in the first half, but squandered chances as usual. Then in the second half we handed the game to WBA and gave up. That is the worrying part. But it's only one game.

As far as I'm concerned BR can take as long as he wants. I felt the same about Kenny. A new manager always brings turmoil, some of the fans calling for Kenny's head would do well to remember that.

I don't see how people can say the Agger penalty / red card decision was dubious. Agger pushed him, he was through on goal.

The Skrtle one got me really annoyed, he never even knew the WBA guy was there, so how could he foul him?

posted on 18/8/12

I think that today just shocked the team, we were playing well and then a Gera wonder goal knocked us down and then we started the second half well and then it just all fell apart with a serious of events that will forever anger me.

--------------

It was a soft touch, and just outside the area. Its a harsh penalty. The referee was way behind the play.

The second penalty was ridiculous.

posted on 18/8/12

Jan, I agree it was a soft touch, but Agger was extremely stupid to do even that. I would have preferred he let the guy take his chances against Reina. (No, I don't expect Agger to just let him go, but to push him then was stupid beyond words)

Agger, even though we were better in possession in the first half, I didn't see too many shots on goal, there was no end product, and that did surprise me. JimmytheRed
