He's a waste of time, get rid asap.

even Millen thinks hes a big baby.

i think its just what we need...hear me out 2 defenders out, this will hopfully push millen to bring in a RB and LB just what we need, i think we will be alright with fonts and lewin in the middle with possibly Bongani Khumalo
at left back and another prem youngster at RB

'we will be alright with fonts and lewin in the middle'

We certainly wont.

Ribs is beyond a joke and is Wilson injured as well?

i mean
????? fonts nyatanga Khumalo

that can do a job providing the RB is decent heck even skuse can play there, the worse case scenario is

carey stewart nyatanga fontaine

I know its early days, and I don't like to appear to be seen as a doommonger, but Charlton managed to put 2 past us as did Plymouth. Ok they were friendlies, but we shouldn't be allowing that to happen.
We knew before a ball was kicked that we needed to strengthen at the back - we have lost Caulker and the lad from West Ham and now 2 of our own.

I hate to repeat myself - and nobody hopes I am wrong more than myself, but I can see a season of 5-4 defeats looming, petering out after Maynard leaves in January to 5-2 defeats

The only defender we have currently that I would be content with is Carey, and even Louis is on his last legs.
Wouldn't give you tuppence for Nyatanga and Fonts as Championship defenders, and Ribs and Wilson seem to be always injured.
Millen needs to get off his a** and get defenders in asap.
No sense at all playing Cisse in pre-season at CB when it's certain Cisse will start in front the back 4 come Ipswich.
Cisse,NK,Marv and Skuse in whatever combination need game time in the role they'll be playing to gel.
It's what pre-season is about.
Or flaming should be.

Totally agree RP - and I would have expected Millen with his playing background would have had that section of the team sorted first.

I am not going to either defend or attack KM but to be balanced so far every defender he has attempted to sign Jones - Taylor - Khumalo - The one from Ipswich whose name has escaped me - Caulker - Spence have been players that would have improved the side and there is still a chance of getting Khumalo on loan though it looks more like Rangers(European football the draw even if it is for one round) so is the complaint we are trying to sign players that everyone else wants because they are good players? There do not seem to be masses of good defenders available so everyone is chasing those that are.
The injury to Ribs might just be a jarred knee which hurts like blazes for a few days then settles with no ill effects(Had that myself once and it felt worse than when I had my leg broken in 2 places playing football)

perhaps hunt should have another chance

Not so sure about that shiny he might be a bit better than I am but not by much and I spend a fair amount of time in a wheelchair.
Might be a bit unkind but people used to complain about LJ not tackling but I reckon Hunt did even fewer tackles and never wanted to risk disturbing his hair by heading a ball, I know he was injured in the early part of last season but he didn't improve when he was supposedly fit.

Now Torquay have managed 2 goals against us.

We need to sort this and we have less than a month.

It is a cause for concern, but a surprise to no-one.
KM has a look of desperation when the subject turns to incoming defenders, and it is obvious he is aware of the situation. However, he has met a stone wall whenever he has tried to sign one this summer. That is because he is going for better players, ones who would rather play in the Premiership and probably can. We cant compete with the WBAs at the moment, but given time he will find some jems. Just hope it is not too long before they arrive, or it will be a step back

On a brighter note, good to see young Reed shaping up. By the end of this season he will be quite an asset in our midfield. The future belongs to Bobby Reed

Morning Rickster,

Watched the 'highlights' and I know it was only minutes but he looked the one player that took my eye.
As for the rest, they all seem back in Portugal. The defending, not just the defence, is one hell of a concern.
Millen must start playing Cisse in front the back 4 and get in 2 defenders asap.
How long have fans been saying this.
