Interesting....very interesting.
I think that game will be good for the team to learn from, too.
As Hoons says, onwards and upwards!
Did you Cox on the back post. His hair must have been standing on end. <smile>.
I'm really happy with that point. An absolutely cracking match!!!
Great game to watch.
2 good goals. Just gotta keep it tight at the back and we'll do nicely this season.
Cox looks like the type of striker we've been missing. We've not had anyone who works to win the ball and can finish. Earnshaw is the nearest we've had, but not even he looked as comfortable on the ball as Cox does.
I might be jumping the gun here, but I'm confident Cox will be our 20 goal a season striker that we've been missing the last few years, who can finally push us over the finishing line.
Bring on Wigan!
COYR
Good point and played well, I don't think many teams will get anything at the Reebox this season! Shows you as well that we can handle ourselves with supposedly one of the main contenders for the title and that must give us confidence!
Bring on Wigan in the cup and then lets try and get the three points next Saturday vs Charlton!
You Reds!
Anyone else just starting to think we can challenge this season?
I know it's early but I really think we can push for a top 6 finish this season, if we keep this type of play up, it just has that sort of feeling that this could be a good season?
Just got in from the pub.... cracking game, great goals, and a well deserved point.
Wish we were playing Derby next. We'd batter them with a performance like that
What an arrogant twonk Owen Coyle is, following his post-match interview. When asked that the Bolton goal helped their team find their feet, he said no...Forest were lucky from a 35 yarder. No acknowledgment that we dominated the first half. He then went on to say that they should have won that match, almost easily, with 5 or 6 goals.
Whereas, Sean was realistic, took positives and negatives and gave props to Bolton. Nothing like that from OC...shows his character.
He must be under pressure from the fans to make out that was all one way traffic. That or deluded.
Idiot.
Owen Coyle is a nasty type of manager IMO. He plays football all wrong, playing a more physical game rather then actually trying to play and will never admit to anything.
Whereas even though SOD seems like a quiet man, he knows how to play football and acknowledges the points brought up in a game.
Shows you the difference really, not just between the managers, but between the pedigree's of the clubs as well!
Agree. He came across as an absolute plank. Completely ruled out the fact their first goal should have been ruled out, and put our second goal down to poor defending rather than fantastic counter attack football, which it was.
Makes you realise what a down to earth manager we have, rather than an absolute tool like Coyle!
sounds like SOD has the team playing so e good football as well as getting good results.
I was a Billy Davies guy and have been since he kept us up a few seasons back, but I am starting to think getting SOD was a wise and extreemly shrewd maneuver.
What about you SBD? Are you becoming a SOD convert?
I've gotta say that Coyles interview stinks of ignorrance and arrogance. It was really distasteful.
The Eagles goal only could've been ruled out for 2 possible infringements. We didn't create that many chances - maybe 2 clear cut ones - which is about the same as you guys.
I must admit, I thought that your second goal was pretty poor defending/midfielding. Reid stole 5 yards on Andrews while he was watching the ball and you ended up for 4 vs 3 from a long punt upfield. I thought you were excellent though, but we were exceptionally poor first half.
ive always thought Bolton fans were reasonable blokes.
I used to rate Coyle, but he's just gone a long way down in my estimation.

It is an interesting one Tricky. Billy will always be a great manager in my book, and I will hope he does well wherever he goes, and I still think that one day he will be the Forest manager again!
Now SOD is obviously a very different type of manager, but he also knows how to play football the right way and is also very honest with the press which obviously comes through to us the fans. The team seem to like him and the work rate is starting to get back to the way it was when Billy was here. The fans are also starting to get some confidence back again and are proud to show off that they support Nottingham Forest which has been near non- existent since BD left. The only thing I can fault SOD on is his fan involvement, but it is still very early, and he still has more involvement then the Wolly ever had! I also like his post match ritual as well where he keeps the players out.
So far I am very impressed by SOD, and this is the first time that I am not hoping that a manager gets sacked so Billy can make a return. I'm obviously not going to say I think SOD is in the same league of Forest managers for me as BD was, but he has the potential to be, and I very much hope he can be the one to lead us into the PL!
Owen Coyle is deluded if he couldn't see Forest's domination during the first half.
I really feel Forest played the more intelligent football, I'm happy to come out of that with a point.
I would be more optimistic for the season ahead if I were a Forest fan.
Good luck for the season.
