it took henry 8 to score

Henry was brought as a winger who was then converted into a striker, he had everything just needed confidence.

There isn't a set time limit. I'm sure both players will do well for us, especially Giroud. They just need a few more weeks to settle in and get used to the players around them. Some settle quicker than others.

Giroud will be a hit for us. He will be a fan favourite.

perhaps these 2 both just need confidence too then?

Podolski is rubbish. Sell him while he's still got a bit of value.

posted on 27/8/12

There's no guarantee of that Kam. There will be a limit where fans start saying wtf is going on with them if the worst happened.

Podolski has already gelled imo. He was great on Sunday. He'll bang 'em in soon.

Giroud too.

Sir

Yeh that maybe is it, I'm gna give them time I was just wondering how long peeps would give them if they continued on a goalless streak.

Those aren't fans, powerking

I think it took Bergkamp 4 months

Dubbed

But they will be judged on goals in the end but I agree they do look good.

posted on 27/8/12

i cannot wait for giroud to score his first goal, and watch as all the pressure of scoring that first ever is taken off those broad shoulders of his.

Kam

Of course they are fans, worried fans. I would agree if fans judged them on 3 games but in the end if there not upto it then fans have a right to voice there concerns.

Podolski looking sharp already
I guess we don't have a choice in how long we give them, no alternatives

Well they'll need to pick it up quite quick. From a foreign league, I don't tend to fully judge a player until their 2nd season, unless of course they gel in straight away like Cazorla.

I think Podolski and Giroud are starting to settle in now, they'll find the net sooner rather than later.

I will give them the same amount of time I give everyone. 5 English minutes.

Starting from when they score their first goal.

God help them if they don't play well in the 5 minutes after that.

I think omce both break their duck they will be on their way.
I am certainly impressed by Giroud, not so much by Poldi.

Wenger has again made a blunder of not anticipating a problem until it hits him in the face. Last season u guys had only RVP who was almost certain to leave at the end of the year, did Arsene really think that some new striker would suddenly start finding the net for Arsenal next season He should have brought a striker last season itself if he had no faith in Chamakh. The transition would have been much easier. I just can't believe a manger of top4 team can underestimate a striker's position so much.

Its not just gettgin used to and gelling with the new team. Dont forget that every competition uses a different ball as well and Nike have just introduced a new one. As these two and Cazorla are effectively having their pre-season now I give it another couple of games before they start firing on all cylinders.

How can you not be impressed with Podolski? He's shown more than Giroud, thus far.

posted on 27/8/12

Podolski hasn't shown anything really, one run at the defence and good defensive work yesterday is'all.

posted on 27/8/12

To have effectively swapped RvP for these two, paying them more wages in the process, was a diabolical decision.

Gone Backwards.

True about the lack of preseason didn't think about that.

Where as Giroud has shown a lot to make me think he will be fine, as long as the media don't pick on him.

Well i have seen Poldi play for Bayern a lot.
He is a typical big fish in small pond player, a bit like Arshavin.
People go on abt his international record, but klose too has a gr8 international record but was found wanting at club level. Do u know who else has a gr8 international record.....
Guess..Keep Guessing!!!!
Yup...Peter Crouch

Giroud seems like a complete striker with an excellent build, and a good footballing intelligence too(the shot he tried against Stoke requires vision and guts).
If i was an Arsenal fan, i would not be too worried abt Giroud but personally Poldi does not excite me although he can be a good support striker

Guess you haven't been watching the game then.

His link up play, and movement was great.
