McGeady was the best homegrown Celtic player I have and probably will ever see. He had a little bit of inconsitancy to his game and was constantly slaughtered for it. I met him once and told him he was a excellent player and the most exciting player in the SPL since Larsson. His reply was "thanks, that means a lot to hear. Maybe you could tell the rest of the Celtic fans" Because he never skinned 10 players with 8 Spins and a goal every game he was "sh yte, attitude problem" and all that.
For me he was an outstanding Celtic player one of the very best I have ever been lucky to see and was hounded out of Celtic and Glasgow because the support expected far far to much from him. I hope he comes back some day.

Forrest's just starting out, I reckon he'll eclipse anything McGeady's done.

McGeady frustrated the life out of me, Forrest is far more direct and a much better finisher, McGeady couldn't finish his dinner - great cash we got for him tho.

Forrest has the potential to be as good as McGeady - thats how it stands at the moment

You reckon he will come back some day Ghod? I have been watching him when I can for spartak but his heart doesnt seem in it there. Hopefully he goes to a British team then after a season or 2 we could get him back up where he belongs. I think Forrest will be a class act and has a great career ahead of him. McGeady was a bit special though and really got the fans out of their seats. Fickle bunch though footy fans. I remember getting into an argument with my mate because he said Larsson had turned mince after a couple of weeks without a goal The king soon shut him up though.

It is true he was a bit inconsistent, but can you name a winger that isnt nowadays? Theyre not going to be able to get buy every defender every time and about half the time it wont come off. But McGeady was great for us i think. never knew why he got slagged the way he did if he had a bad few games

McGeady is a fine player. He still needs to work on his final ball. This was always his major shortcoming.

Forrest is a different player entirely. I think it is unfair to compare the two.

If you were to compare, Forrest couldn't lace McGeady's boots in terms of technical ability. McGeady is not as direct or powerful as Forrest.

Agree as well, once he get a more mature head on his shoulders, Id say neck but Im not sure he has one . He is still making some rookie mistakes but that will pass and if he keeps progressing he will over shadow McGeady but he still has a long way to go.

p.s McGeady was a wee torn-faced cant, and it took him about three years to learn to pass and help out his defence.

Did he pump your sister Zico? A lot of rage towards the mageadster. He was spot on if you ask me. I was at an home game against Hibs and he misplaced a pass which apart from that had a great game and the fans around me started shouting abuse I think people just took a dislike to him because he knew he was a great player and asked for the respect he deserved. It snot as if he refused to play or put in a shift.
