lets not kid ourselves that we have not lost a top player who never gave the ball away and keep the teams play flowing

Hard to find a player like Modric

dont make him out to be 10 a penny

spot on i'd say (except i agree that the choice of the word "attacking" is a bit unfortunate).

whilst i agree that it's hard to find a player of his type, that doesnt mean he's a great player. not in my book anyway

Well without him wba had 50% possesion on saturday

go figure

posted on 28/8/12

We had 89% 25 mins into game. We just decided that we weren't guna create any chances

posted on 28/8/12

Weare, I think we had 70% in the first half

posted on 28/8/12

yeh and for 8 minutes of the second half WBA had 80% possesion

at the end of the game at home to a poor team we had 50%

A playmaker MF who doesn't score as many as one wanted.
But in the presence of a decent striker, he doesn't have to.

Players like Modric are always been criminally under-rated. He's excellent

posted on 28/8/12

He was never that good. You won't miss him.

posted on 28/8/12

Yes your midfield hardly misses Modric at all

posted on 28/8/12

I think they are just showing their ignorance here TBH. Also I don't remember him being an attacking midfielder.

Lets not kid ourselves here we going miss Modric

No we will only miss him if we do not replace him adequately, which is the same as any team that has ever sold a good player.

If his type of player is ten a penny in Spanish academies, surely Madrid would have promoted one? Or bought one elsewhere for less than 30m!

posted on 28/8/12

^^^ exactly HRH. Any Spurs fan who wants to pretend he isn't the best player to have played fo us in ages is just bitter over how he left.

No I didn't like his methods, but he is still an amazing player.

it was nothing to do with modric.

also west brom are not a poor team imo. they have a good system, and good players.

perhaps after the first 20 mins where we had 80% possession we got complacent and lacklustre there after.

none of us would be surprised if this were the case.

Modric is a top player, You only had to watch him to see how gifted he was on the ball for us, he may not of scored goals or made lots of assists, but he kept the ball and passed it well, he is a good pass and move player (which is what makes him such a good player for us) He aslo used the ball very intelligently.

Had he been a striker he would have been poor, which is why he is a central midfielder

most passes in opposition half last season in prem league

yeh course we wont miss him ..
