I get what you are saying, but it is hard on your wide players to maintain that kind of energy over a long season.
Swansea did fall off a fair bit from about mid march onwards.
------------
That's why we have Suarez, Borini, Downing, Sterling, Assaidi & potentially Dempsey to play in them positions...
iCRAFT
You could call it a 4-3-3 but you could also call it a 4-5-1, with the wide players pushing forward when you attack, and cutting in like you say.
United only played this 4-3-3 for one season when we had Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo. None of them really had any defensive duties though.
The champions drew, away @the 8th best team in England. They scored from our mistakes and virtually no ability of their own.
............
Irrelevant to your formation.
That's why i believe another forward is necassary VC.
We could potentially have Suarez, Dempsey, Borini, Downing, Assaidi and Sterling competeing for 3 places, very good competition for places.
Irrelevant to your formation.
-------
It's really not.
The way we played and they way Rodgers set out the team to play - including our formation - contributed to City not being able to score through merit and forced them to live off of the mistakes we made.
Either way you look at it. If you only count legit goals - I don't count set-pieces as such - then it would have been 0-0.
We still drew to the best team in the Prem'.
Dempsey is a Liverpool player. Deal to be announced soon!
A question. Who would you rather have up front, Dempsey or Ramirez. My choice is for the latter,he's younger fitter, faster. jimmyTheRed

Yes it is.
Or is this form, ation a one off for when you play City?

But you lost to a vastly inferior one a week earlier.

I'd be happy

Who do you see as your midfield three.

Don't want that greedy Mercenary at the club. Don't want Gaston Ramirez at all.

Are current best 3 is Lucas, Allen and Gerrard but if Sahin can keep fit and adapt quickly he can give any 3 of them a run for their money.
Dempsey could also play at the top of the 3.
Shelvey and Henderson aren't too bad neither.
Quick question VC, how does Anderson still get into your starting 11?
He's woeful.
Yes it is.

What are you going on about?
This comment is how it started:
">>Do you think you could compete against the top teams with a midfield three.
seemed to work just fine against city
........................
You drew the game, at home. You scored from a corner and another set piece."
That implies that you don't think the result against City means we can play with 2 wide-forwards...
I then went on to say that neither of their goals were scored due to our alleged inability to play with wide-forwards and were conceded due to out mistakes.
Thus meaning that the formation we played managed to keep the best team in the Premiership from scoring. (In essence)
How you managed to formulate what I said into whatever you thought I said I have no idea.
