He scored a penalty but he's no Maradona

How can you have Ronaldo as number 1 when he doesn't even track back?!

posted on 17/7/11

Firstly, why are you posting this on the Arsenal board?

And secondly, Ronaldo is not and never will be half the player Messi is.

Rooney and Sneijder better than Messi?

posted on 17/7/11

I agree, Messi is a not as good version of Rooney!

posted on 17/7/11

Sneijder was the best player at the world cup and in the Champions league last season. Rooney was the best player in the best league in the world. There.

"Wow he can score some tippy tappy goals in the easiest league in the world. Anyone could do that."

I'm sure you could Barry Smith, fool.

how do you expect an attacker to play well if he is being supplied by juan sebastien veron and javier mascherano. like hitler famously said, send adebayor to derby county and see how many goals he scores with giles barnes playing the playmaker role.
oh and you have ronaldo on top of that list, how good is he for portugal? not very by my liking. he, like messi, doesnt reach his club level for country, again because hes playing alongside mediocre players.
and rooney hes been consistently ballacks for 2 years now.

Rooney is the best player in the world remember

one of the english commentators said it so it's definetly true

seriously though do you remember some commentators/pundits pretending to the english fans that they genuinely thought rooney was one of the best players in the world before the south africia world cup?

ronaldo is the best and he can play in any team while messi can only play for barca

posted on 17/7/11

Rooney scored 38 goals in the toughest league in the world last season, then he was injured for the first half of the season so you have to take that into account. Ronaldo was better than Messi at the world cup and was better than him last season, scoring the same amount as goals and weren't just tap ins from Xavi and Iniesta passes.

Where was R00NEY at the world cup?

posted on 17/7/11

He was injured and had personal problems. You can't blame him for that. He was still better than Messi.

posted on 17/7/11

Last season when Rooney came back from 'injury' in february or Jan, he also immediately made a difference to the squad, the goal against City, the goal vs Chelsea, West Ham, all pivotal games, Rooney is a big game player.

Even in his worst season in Football, he is still the difference maker for the best team in England.

posted on 17/7/11

I agree. He single handedly got Man Utd to the CL final and dragged them to the league title with passion and desire. All of which Arsenal lack so get annoyed and say some tippy tappy player is better than Rooney to justify their nonsense style of football.

posted on 17/7/11

Rooney hasn't scored in a tournament for England since 2004. Ronaldo scored once for Portugal for years n it was against north Korea when they beat them 7-0. do research about the players who are supposedly better than messi before spouting it.

Rooney haha what has he ever done for England?

1.xavi
2.Iniesta
3.Messi
4.Ronaldo
5.Bebe

Sorry couldn't resist that last one

posted on 17/7/11

What better research is there than watching them. I watched every Man Utd, Barcelona and Real Madrid game last season. Wow Messi can score for Barca when they are 3-0 up against Lecce or some other mediocre La Liga nonsense team. Rooney does it when it matters and contributes more to the team.

Rooney currently has less hair than messi, thus making him older and more experienced, ergo, better.
When his "plantation" takes off he will look younger due to having more hair and therefore in effect be younger and fitter than messi, hence, better.

Like my logic barry?

posted on 17/7/11

this has to be a wind up, rooney>>messi lol

i mean you cant even argue with a statement like that as its to ridiculous for words

posted on 17/7/11

Based on this simple calculation

Rooney + Hair transplant = > Messi

posted on 17/7/11

And yet still set up Higuain's goal with a brilliant pass...

posted on 17/7/11

and also ronaldo was awfull at the world cup, i remember hearing a stat that he had more shots of target than anyone else in the competition.

posted on 17/7/11

Ok but you've said that Rooney n ronaldo are better on international stage, you've ignored the fact that messi created more chances and assisted more than both players but let's ignore that shall we, Ronaldo scored at euro 04 twice, and WC 2010 once, that's hardly blasting the international stage is it? And Rooney 4goals at euro 04 n that's it. Re consider your points n accept you have an opinion, however it's based on knowledge that is incorrect.

posted on 17/7/11

Rooney was the best player in the CL final and was just let down by the other players. He scored the best goal in history last season and won the toughest league in living memory. Messi scored some tap ins. I don't see your logic for Messi being better.
